[Bug 1628659] Re: "d-i partman/unmount_active boolean true" not working
I get the same message, and I have: d-i partman/unmount_active boolean false My case: I have a 2nd usb stick with ubuntu-16.04.2-server-amd64.iso the installer mounts it under /cdrom, and then asks me if I want to unmount it so it can step on it. perhaps this should be a special case? Anyway, I wonder what the relation is between unmount_active and "Do you want the installer to try to unmount...?" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1628659 Title: "d-i partman/unmount_active boolean true" not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/preseed/+bug/1628659/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 889656] Re: installer stops using proxy
@broder: take over all you want - I mostly agree with you and I don't think I have anything else to offer. I agree squid-deb-proxy is at fault. I am not sure I agree that installing it should interfere with the install process. for instance, if the installer uses dhcp, but I configure the target with a static IP, I would not expect that IP get used until the install is finished and reboots into the new system. But this just in from #ubuntu-installer: (01:38:50 PM) cjwatson: CarlFK: the installer should rely on /target being functional. I think your previous bug is good enough, though; this is a one-off issue with squid-deb-proxy-client, and I don't think it's worth trying to solve generically - we'll just figure out how to deal with that issue My guess is that apt-avahi-discover should not return "http://:/"; ever; if it can't find a proxy for whatever reason, it should return "" and let the calling code figure out what to do. I also guess we are all in agreement on this. Getting the daemon to run so that a proxy is detected is up for debate. Personally I want the installer to keep using the on I specified, but I am not sure it would cause a problem if it didn't. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889656 Title: installer stops using proxy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid-deb-proxy/+bug/889656/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 805773] [NEW] ubuntu keserver uses port 11371
Public bug reported: I use squid-deb-proxy to speed up netboot installs with this preseed line: d-i mirror/http/proxy string http://g2a.personnelware.com:8000/ I also add some extra repositories: d-i apt-setup/local0/repository string http://ppa.launchpad.net/carlfk/ppa/ubuntu natty main d-i apt-setup/local0/key string http://keyserver.ubuntu.com:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x2EB11AEDA224C43C The installer tries to get the key via the proxy, which fails, and so the repository is not used. Here is the code that does that: /usr/lib/fetch-url/http # use the proxy for wgets (should speed things up) if db_get mirror/$proto/proxy; then export ${proto}_proxy="$RET" fi The solution seems to be to add 11371 to the ports allowed. ** Affects: squid-deb-proxy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/805773 Title: ubuntu keserver uses port 11371 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid-deb-proxy/+bug/805773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 728710] Re: d-i apt-setup/local0/repository not working
Yep, removed proxy, apt-setup/local0/repository got added to etc/apt/sources.list. I see 2 or 3 bugs here: I'll be happy to open new bugs if someone asks. 1. If this is the only reason to enable the proxy: # use the proxy for wgets (should speed things up) don't use the proxy. I suspect there are more reasons, like the proxy is the only way to get to the internet, so not using it will be good for my case but bad for some other case. We should be sure there is a case that would be bad though. like maybe proxying keys are bad and shouldn't be done anyway, so if it was working it should be fixed to not work. 2. squid-deb-proxy needs to handle this. Whatever this is. 3. d-i needs to error when this errors. failing silently is bad. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728710 Title: d-i apt-setup/local0/repository not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-setup/+bug/728710/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal when this text is on the screen: http://blip.tv/file/4720262 I can point the mouse at it, right click, select "Open Link" but "http://blip.tv/file/4720262<" gets opened in the browser and because of the < it 404s. According to http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2396.txt < is not part of a valid URL """ The angle-bracket "<" and ">" and double-quote (") characters are excluded because they are often used as the delimiters around URI in text documents and protocol fields.
