Thanks for that. It finally works for me.

@Maintainer:
Is there a chance that this tutorial instructions get packaged so that the
driver can be installed easier?

[Bug 1125016] Re: Stacked menus unaccessible

2013-03-12 Thread Carli
Making screenshots is a bit hard now because the wifi is locally bound.

The dialog covered by the popup looks like this:
http://zid.univie.ac.at/fileadmin/user_upload/zid/daten/anleitungen/wlan-ubuntu/login-st.png

The popup that is inaccessible looks like this
http://zid.univie.ac.at/fileadmin/user_upload/zid/daten/anleitungen/wlan-ubuntu/cert.png

with different window decorations of course ;)
(Gnome3 seemed to break it)

[Bug 1120149] Re: No touchscreen gestures in evince presentation

2013-02-13 Thread Carli
** Summary changed:

- Fullscreen too dominant
+ No touchscreen gestures in evince presentation

** Description changed:

- When I use a on screen keyboard, it is hidden by the fullscreen window of
evince.
- This is fatal because I cannot navigate any more.
+ I'm using evince on the WeTab with Ubuntu 13.04.
+ When I go into presentation mode, I would like to go both back and forward
with touch gestures instead of the simple click=next slide

[Bug 1121243] [NEW] touch is too sensitive

2013-02-10 Thread Carli
Public bug reported:

When I click with a mouse, it is fairly easy to not move the mouse while
clicking.

With a touchscreen, it is more difficult. Tapping with the finger means that
the finger rolls on the screen. (It's not that exact like it is with a mouse)
A small movement of just one pixel is interpreted my applications as drag, but
not as click.
Tested on the WeTab.

My suggestion: snap the mouse position for touchscreens when the finger
moved less than 5 pixels and less than 100 ms.

[Bug 1107203] [NEW] Sound stops working after service lightdm restart

2013-01-27 Thread Carli
Public bug reported:

I did the following

sudo service lightdm stop
wait 2 days

[Bug 1093523] [NEW] os-prober doesen't detect Win8 but only its recovery environment

2012-12-24 Thread Giulio Carli
Public bug reported:

I got some problem during the installation of Ubuntu on a UEFI ultrabook.
I give you all the infos about what I have done:
1) restore my laptop to the factory default configuration (so only Windwos 8
was on my harddrive);
2) install Ubuntu Secure Remix 12.10 30nov2012 (64bit); here I got the first
surprise: This computer currently has no detected operating system and
using os-prober (1.56ubuntu1) I got /dev/sda6:Windows Recovery Environment
(loader):Windows:chain, while I also should got /dev/sda2:Window 8..
Here you can find the Boot Info Script http://paste.ubuntu.com/1460646/;
3) so I aborted the installation and I tried to verify my harddrive partition
scheme through fixparts under Windows 8. Apparently everything was fine;
4) I tried a new installation of Ubuntu selecting Other and performing a
manual partioning. The installation ended fine. At the first reboot I was only
able to load Ubuntu through the grub2. Here you can read the Boot Info script
at that moment http://paste.ubuntu.com/1460627/;
5) so I performed boot-repair to get back Windows loading at the grub2 shell.
After that the Boot Info Script was http://paste.ubuntu.com/1460646/ (os-prober
continues to give only /dev/sda6:Windows Recovery Environment
(loader):Windows:chain);
6) at the next reboot this was what I got at the grub2 options:
a) ubuntu (that loads correctly Ubuntu OS);
b) advance options for Ubuntu;
c) Windows UEFI loader (that loads properly Windwos 8);
d) Windows Boot UEFI bootx64.efi.bkp (as c);
e) Windows Recovery Enviroment (loader) (on /dev/sda6) (this gives the
following error messages: error: impossible find command'drivemap'; error:
invalid EFI file path; press any key to continue (and it comes back to grub2);

[Bug 1065595] [NEW] Changes on cloned svg objects are not correctly updated

2012-10-11 Thread Carli
Public bug reported:

What I did:
 - Having a SVG file that contains a master object and a reference of that
object, using use.
 - The master object is hidden and has style=fill:#00;
 - I change the style property of the master object (fill:#FF;)

Expected behaviour: The fill of the cloned object changes, too.
How opera and other browsers behave: The fill of the cloned object changes
How firefox behaves: The cloned object did not change. The style property is
correctly set, but the graphics is not updated.

[Bug 1010852] [NEW] unusual window placement when opening LO

2012-06-09 Thread Carli
Public bug reported:

Current Behaviour:
When I start LO, it opens its window always on the first monitor even if my
mouse is on the second monitor right from the first. The window's position is
as right as possible.

Expected Behaviour:
LO should use the system defaults and open the window in that monitor I have
the mouse in.
(If the current behaviour is intended, I'd like to have a settings checkbox to
deactivate this)

As i heard from other Lazarus users, lazarus works fine on gnome3+debian, so

Public bug reported:

I'm using awesome window manager and whenever I close firefox by

have to click on Restore Session

Steps to reproduce
 1. start awesome

 3. shut down the computer
 4. repeat 1 and 2
 5. you should see the crash dialog

One of the opened tabs was http://translate.google.de/, maybe this is

information at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs;)?
In particular, this section: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs#Crashes
- All crash reports must be submitted with a complete stacktrace

Thanks but did you read the bug report? Or are you a bot that searches
the head line for the word crash

Firefox DOES NOT CRASH.
But after restarting it with closing it by a signal instead of going over
File-Exit, Firefox tells me it could not restore the sessions. That's a
problem in the logic and NOT a crash.

[Bug 872880] Re: Clicking on tabs does not work

2011-10-19 Thread Carli
The bug appears on both, lazarus and lazarus-0.9.30
And yes, I assume its a problem with the gtk2 widgetset. It was broken since
the small scrollbars were introduced in ubuntu.

lazarus is the meta package for the older lazarus 0.9.28.2 while
lazarus-0.9.30 is the meta package for a newer version.

[Bug 872880] Re: Clicking on tabs does not work

2011-10-18 Thread Carli
I'm not adding any package sources. I used the official meta-package lazarus
and lazarus-0.9.30 (not at the same time of course)
Since Lazarus is using GTK, i assume it has something to do with the upgrade to
gnome3. I did not experience this bug in older versions of ubuntu.

[Bug 872876] [NEW] terminal window resizes when moving around window in awesome window manager

2011-10-12 Thread Carli
Public bug reported:

Reproduce:
 - start awesome (window manager)
 - open gnome-terminal
 - hold down windows-key
 - drag the terminal window with left mouse button

What I expect:
 - Window should move around and size should stay the same

What I actually see:
 - Window becomes smaller and smaller

Workaround
 - resize the window before you drag it around (Win+RMB-Drag)
 - resize the window to a size that is odd to the height of a character
 - when there is a bit space in the bottom of the window (clientheight is not a
multiple of the height of one line), moving will work correctly

[Bug 214951] Re: apport tries to open second browser instance for crash report

2011-10-01 Thread Carli
The bug affects me, too. But I have an other problem:

The program that crashes crashes on DISPLAY=:0. Firefox is running on
DISPLAY=:10. So I'm not able to see bug report.

[Bug 863900] [NEW] randr settings fail when i have a virtual crtc

2011-10-01 Thread Carli
Public bug reported:

I'm developing fake CRTCs to add new pluggable virtual monitors which can be
accessed via VNC.
it works finde with xrandr. I execute the following commands to set up my multi
head environment:
xrandr --admode VMon 1280x800
xrandr --output VMon --mode 1280x800 --left-of VGA-0

Other randr clients such as grandr and gnome-control center crash. I
dont know why.
