[Bug 1417729] [NEW] Via-Rhine onboard chip stop working and could not be reset.

2015-02-03 Thread Carlos Luna
Public bug reported:

The network quit to work after some time 30 minutes more or less and is
impossible to restart the network or the via-rhine card with rmmod via-rhine
and modprobe via-rhine.
Feb 3 13:26:13 ubuntupc kernel: [ 6073.808195] via-rhine :00:12.0 eth1:
Transmit timed out, status 4003, PHY status 7849, resetting...

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
3.13.0-45-generic
00:12.0 Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] (rev 7c)

I have tested start the kernel with noapic and noacpi options but after several
minutes 30 or 45 minutes the USB devices (Mouse -usb genius- and Keyboard
-Genius Kb12e ) stop working, so again I must restart the PC.
I think it is a bug related to Kernel. Could be Avahi or network-manager?
This is a long time bug.

[Bug 1316740] Re: 1106:3106 [Asus P7H55-M/BR] via-rhine kernel module: PHY status 786d, resetting

2014-09-22 Thread Carlos Luna
I have testing and trying to solve or have some workaround, so I add noapic to
the kernel line and this make the net work fine, but after several minutes the
system freezes and disconect keyboard and mouse usb, as well I have tried with
noacpi with the same results, the best result is around 1 hour and half working
well but finally the system freezes.
Maybe to some persons could work add noapic or noacpi to the kernel line.

I have tested to add noapic and noacpi to the kernel line and the VIA-
RHINE card work fine, but after several minutes the system freezes,
first I have got the keyboard and the mouse both usb disconnected and
immediately the system freezes. But I think this workaround could work
for some people.

[Bug 1083565] Re: avahi malfunctions on a machine connected to the network via multiple interfaces

2014-09-22 Thread Carlos Luna
Some one could test if adding noapic or noacpi to the kernel line work
and the net card work fine? as well could some one test installing wicd
and uninstall network-manager to see if this work?

For me adding noacpi or noapic work for the net card but after one hour
more or less the system freezes, disconecting the keyboard and mouse so
I must restart the PC and with wicd I can make this work for me, wicd
does not detect the net card or may be I do not know how to configure
it.

[Bug 1269412] Re: via-rhine kernel module: PHY status 786d, resetting

2014-06-20 Thread Carlos Luna
I keep trying to find what the trouble is, so I`ve tested with another
kernels, even 2.6.32 and the trouble is the same, so I think now that
this could be Systemd problem.

I think the problem is related to SystemD.
Some help?

[Bug 555645] Re: 0 [VT82xx ]: HDA-Intel - HDA VIA VT82xx HDA VIA VT82xx at 0xbfffc000 irq 17

2012-02-28 Thread Carlos Luna
It is related to the motherboard MS-7253

Ther is a related bug in the kernel that could be fixed just add pci=use_crs to
my Kernel options and now I have sound.
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub and add change the line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash pci=use_crs

but read first this
https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=5533
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42567
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42619

you just need to read the last 3 posts.
