[Bug 44008] Re: Shutdown still doesn't turn off my computer

I have exactly the same problem.
I have a P IV 3.4 GHz, and I'm using Edgy with 2.6.17-10-generic.

Other interesting thing to notice is that, after starting my machine, if
I don't log on to my account and I try to do shutdown, it will work
flawlessly!
