[Bug 1766137] Re: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only)
Sum Sim Not sure it is the Nvidia driver, I have had the same problem on both the Nvidia-390 and the X-org Nouveau display driver. There seems to be a lot of talk about error occurring with incorrect password input, this is inconsistent with my experience. The best workaround I have seen so far is mentioned by Wayne Carr (above), rather than log-out when switching users, use the switch-user option. This obviously leaves all profiles active but the fault does not occur. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766137 Title: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdm/+bug/1766137/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1068661] Re: 1002:6740 Unity does not load after installing fglrx-installer Radeon HD 6700M Series
Has any-one tried installing the driver from a different source to the additional drivers tab in software sources I eventually in frustration installed fglrx-updates, fglrx-amdcccle-updates and fglrx-updates-dev via synaptic package manager and it now works. I have also seen some-one else say that they installed the old Additional drivers app from the software centre and installed the driver from there and it now works for them after previously having the same problems as us after installing from the additional drivers tab of software sources. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068661 Title: 1002:6740 Unity does not load after installing fglrx-installer Radeon HD 6700M Series To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fglrx/+bug/1068661/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
