[Bug 407762] [NEW] ubuntuone-syncdaemon maxes out system resources

2009-08-01 Thread Cary Haynie
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Running Karmic on x86-64.

After moving ~320mb of versioned software repositories to my Ubuntu One
share, I've noticed that the Ubuntu One client is constantly working.
Further inspection with top(1) shows the ubuntuone-syncdaemon running
at max CPU and continually allocating more memory. This continued until
my system slowed to a crawl and I was forced to SIGKILL ubuntuone-
syncdaemon ( it didn't respond to SIGTERM ).

When I restarted the ubuntuone-client, the ubuntuone-syncdaemon appeared
to get in to its previous state, running at 100% CPU and constantly
chewing up more memory.

Please include the information requested at

Additionally, please include the size of the xD card as it may be

2008-07-05 Thread Cary Haynie
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)

Expected Result: System boots normally.

Actual Result:
It appears the system halts during IO-APIC setup/initialization. This
result also occurs passing the 'noapic' flag during boot. The console doesn't
record any indication of an bug, error, or panic, it simply stops, with no
indication of any further progress being made.

Additional Notes:
System boots normally with 2.6.24-19 kernel ( most recent installed hardy
kernel )

[Bug 186725] [NEW] System has frequent hiccups of unresponsiveness

2008-01-28 Thread Cary Haynie
Public bug reported:

After anywhere from about a minute to five minutes after logging into
the system, I start to experience what can only be described as a
hiccup; The particular application that I am using at the moment, (I
use gnome-terminal most of the time so it is most prevalent there, but
I've also experienced it in firefox, pigdin, open office, and other
applications ) becomes unresponsive to keyboard and mouse input until
some sort of external action occurs. ( both closing / reopening the
laptop lid and receiving and ssh connection have both caused the machine
to become responsive again)

I've checked both the kernel logs and the X server logs, but nothing
seems to amiss according to the system, save for an occasional APIC
error in the kernel. ( which are nowhere near frequent enough to occur
at the same time the intermittent hiccups occur)

I have Toshiba Satellite S7437 running hardy with the latest updates as
of 1/28/08 applied.
