[Bug 1638398] Re: Theme assets (checkboxes, troughs, etc.) are blurry in hidpi
I chatted briefly with Daniel Fore of elementary, and he provided some more details. In the elementary GTK theme, we use @2x assets for anything that cannot be done via GtkCSS. This means we provide pixel-doubled assets: https://github.com/elementary/stylesheet/tree/master/gtk-3.0/assets. This ensures crisp rendering on 2x displays. For the Ubuntu themes, this would mean we'd need to render out pixel doubled raster assets from the original source vectors if possible, or redraw the assets pixel doubled if there are not vector sources. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1638398 Title: Theme assets (checkboxes, troughs, etc.) are blurry in hidpi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-themes/+bug/1638398/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1379459] [NEW] Provide Undo instead of Confirm Delete dialog
Public bug reported: In Geary, every single time I go to delete an email, I get a confirmation dialog. This unnecessarily spams users with dialogs-- especially if they're triaging a lot of email--and makes it more likely that they'll skip over/not read them. In elementary, we handle this by providing an easy undo instead of confirmation dialogs. This means users aren't spammed by dialogs but can still not delete something if they somehow hit the button by accident. It's part of our HIG: http://elementaryos.org/docs/human-interface- guidelines/always-provide-an-undo Gmail on the web behaves similarly, as does Android. [Bug 1379015] Re: Be more conservative about sidebar number badges
One possible solution (that I believe Gmail might do) is to not shoe badges for all unread messages, but only for “unseen” ones—that is, unread messages you haven’t seen the subjects of. So if my Inbox has 112 new mails, and I skim through the list seeing if anything looks urgent, those messages have been “seen” but not read. I know they exist, so I probably don’t need a badge showing me they exist. I also agree with Dan that showing unread messages in my Sent folder is confusing, but that might be a different issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1379015 Title: Be more conservative about sidebar number badges To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/geary/+bug/1379015/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1009304] [NEW] Selected items in USC are unreadable with certain themes
Public bug reported: When using certain themes such Adwaita or eGTK, selected items in USC use a white text color and the background is very light, making them unreadable. USC should either use the selected background color in addition to the selected text color, or it should not use the selected text color. To reproduce: 1. Switch system theme to Adwaita (or eGTK). 2. [Bug 888776] Re: search quicklist items
Bilal, to expand on your previous example: Firefox should provide ONE .desktop file, then have quicklist items for the Private Browsing and Safe Mode items. In that case, those items should be searchable in Unity/Synapse/Slingshot. It'd prevent having multiple listings for the same app while also utilizing an already- present method of exposing apps' features to Unity. ** Description changed: There's currently a trend of application developers to provide multiple .desktops for their apps in order to get to different parts of the app (for example private browsing in a web browser). One possible way to - fulfill that need without having multiple .desktops littered around + fulfill that need without needing multiple .desktops littered around would be to have popular search-based launchers also search through quicklist items in a .desktop. [Bug 934270] Re: We need to drop the current GTK+ UI in favor of the Qt UI
During a session at UDS, mpt said people would laugh at Ubuntu One if they pushed this app with its current look. Now we're replacing a GTK- native app which looked alright (and consistent) with a very crappy- looking non-native-looking one using the branding colors that have been universally replaced (unless the tans of old-school Ubuntu have been brought back with Ubuntu One?). Not to mention that it doesn't follow any sort of a set of HIG that I can see. The buttons, spinboxes, links, tabs, and everything else looks out of place. Keep in mind this is an *Ubuntu-branded* app made by *Ubuntu* developers on the *Ubuntu platform*, and it doesn't fit in at all. What the heck. If we want to go for consistency and cross-platformness, what we really need to do is make it look absolutely stellar on Ubuntu while fitting in with the platform and the HIG, then push that look out to the other platforms. It'd be much better for the Ubuntu brand as a whole than showing everyone this currently-crappy-looking one. Seriously. Take a page out of Apple's book for this one; make it awesome on your mother platform then port it for the others while keeping the look and feel to help draw people in. I'm afraid that, in its current state, the Qt-based interface really will be something that gets laughed at unless it undergoes a complete redesign making it look really slick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934270 Title: We need to drop the current GTK+ UI in favor of the Qt UI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntuone-control-panel/+bug/934270/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
