2016-05-09 Thread Cedara
Thanks for fixing the bug, I now could install the vivaldi browser third
party deb via nautilus. Will it show up in the Ubuntu Software center at
some point? Cause that didn't happen.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1479093 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1479093

This is exactly the problem I have now.

I installed the new kernel, then, as I started Steam, I got a bug and
all Steam Games are shown up as not installed. Also, when I click on
install, Steam says I don't have enough free space, which isn't true, as
mine is more than 100GB free. The original Steam files are still there
in: Home\.steam\steam\steamapps\common.

[Bug 964365] Re: Weather indicator as earthtools.org is down

2012-08-05 Thread Cedara
Using : Weather Indicator 12.07.30 'Cloudy 10': it's showing the sunrise
and sundown times again, but wrongly.

For today (Sun, August 5):

- showing 5:06:17 for sunrise - it should be 5:39

- showing 21:32:45 for sundown - it should be 21:07.

I'm going by the geographical coordinates of 10°42'East; 53°52'North, if
that's of any relevance.

So, to summarize - partly successful, but not totally fixed.

[Bug 964365] Re: Weather indicator as earthtools.org is down

2012-08-05 Thread Cedara
Can't confirm the temperature problem:

It says 21.7C for my area, two other weather sites say: 23C (for half an
hour earlier) and 21.2C for a private site. As temperatures can differ
in a town depending on where they are taken, it's within the probable
variation, imho.

[Bug 1026543] [NEW] compiz crash

2012-07-19 Thread Cedara
Public bug reported:

Version: ubuntu 12.04 32-bit with unity
System: AMD 64 5600+
Graphics: GeForce GT 520

Apport told me to go with this through the support channels first, even
when I tell apport to collect the information (alt+F2, ubuntu-bug
compiz), which is why I'm reporting it manually.

I had running:
Opera 12.00 with the iplayer on the BBC4extra radio stream
Polly 0.93.4 (twitter client)
Xchat 2.8.8
deluge 1.3.5

Suddenly, the windows popped and I seemed to have most of the open
programmes on one desktop window instead of the four I worked with. Then
the sound hung and repeated itself like a broken record, and I couldn't
seem to do anything - the mouse didn't seem to react as well, so I did a
hard reboot as I was out of ideas. Now it's okay again.

Is there anything I can do to add information for you guys to determine
where this comes from?

Tia,
Cedara

[Bug 999081] [NEW] Submenus in the home folder disappear after a while, reappear after reboot

2012-05-14 Thread Cedara
Public bug reported:

When I'm opening the home folder with the file browser (nautilus) the
menu items have no submenus anymore. The bug doesn't appear immediately
after log on, only after a while. I haven't been able to determine what
sets the bug in motion, only that I can work around it by rebooting.

Sidenote: I'm using screenlets which always set off a crash after log
on. Also, I'm using Opera, where the operapluginwrapper (flash)
sometimes crashes.

I haven't seen anyone else having the same kind of problem at askubuntu
or in any other forums.

[Bug 516476] [NEW] desktop icons disappear on accessing the trash folder

2010-02-03 Thread Cedara
Public bug reported:

When I put something in the trash folder and want to access that trash folder
later on to see what I put in it, the folder immediately closes
and I get to see my desktop pic instead. However, there are no icons on that
desktop. I can not change anything on it. I can only go to my desktop icons
when I access the folder instead.

Logging off and back on gets me back the normal desktop. When I try to
access the trash folder now while something is still in it, I can't -
the above thing (disappearing icons, only desktop pic remains) happens
again. If the trash is empty, I can access the trash folder.

[Bug 515919] [NEW] desktop crashes on accessing the trash folder

2010-02-02 Thread Cedara
Public bug reported:

When I put something in the trash folder and want to access that trash
folder later on to see what I put in it, the folder immediately closes
and I get to see my desktop pic instead. However, there are no icons on
that desktop. I can not change anything on it. I can only go to my
desktop icons when I access the folder instead.

Logging off and back on gets me back the normal desktop. When I try to
access the trash folder now while something is still in it, I can't. If
the trash is empty, I can access it.

[Bug 371565] Re: parley scripts fail to load

2009-06-07 Thread Cedara
Ubuntu 9.04, installed parley with gnome as usual desktop. Same error
about the scripts not loading, installing that library helps by letting
the programme seemingly run smoother; it didn't solve that error though.
