Re: [Bug 152527] Re: rtl8185 freezes on connect to network
I tried the Hardy Beta livecd and it didn't even have the rtl8180 or rtl8185 drivers at all. Just the rtl8187 driver, and that's a USB wifi chip, not the miniPCI chip I have. Strange that the driver just disappeared. -Josh On Sun, Apr 20, 2008 at 8:21 PM, Jayhawk [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: What do we have to do to get these working drivers (I tested them as well- the Fedora ones- and the driver works well) included in 8.04? -- rtl8185 freezes on connect to network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152527 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- Society loses the value of things which are uselessly destroyed. --Frederick Bastiat _ Google Ron Paul ** Attachment added: unnamed http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13592527/unnamed -- rtl8185 freezes on connect to network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 206149] Re: The system doesn't recognize my Realtek RTL8185 wireless card.
On my Gateway MT3423 Gutsy detected and set up my RealTek RTL-8185 just fine. Hardy LiveCD, however, does not. OK, so in Gutsy the driver was buggy so I had to use NDISwrapper and blacklist rtl8185, but I expect Hardy to be better. When I boot the LiveCD, I just get only my Ethernet port and Modem showing in Network Manager, no wireless. lspci does show my RealTek card, though. lspci: 00:00.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:00.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 0 (rev a2) 00:00.2 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 1 (rev a2) 00:00.3 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 5 (rev a2) 00:00.4 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 4 (rev a2) 00:00.5 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:00.6 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 3 (rev a2) 00:00.7 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 2 (rev a2) 00:03.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 PCI-X GeForce Go 6100 (rev a2) 00:09.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:0a.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 LPC Bridge (rev a3) 00:0a.1 SMBus: nVidia Corporation MCP51 SMBus (rev a3) 00:0a.3 Co-processor: nVidia Corporation MCP51 PMU (rev a3) 00:0b.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:0b.1 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:0d.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP51 IDE (rev f1) 00:10.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 PCI Bridge (rev a2) 00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2) 00:14.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Ethernet Controller (rev a3) 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] HyperTransport Technology Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Miscellaneous Control 06:09.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. [Bug 152527] Re: rtl8185 freezes on connect to network
I get the same behavior plus some system instability when using the wireless. (Random system freezes. Especially when using scp or sftp.) Not sure if it's related. My machine is a Gateway MT3423 with built-in mini-PCI RealTek 8185. I'm using the rtl8180 driver. Haven't tried ndiswrapper because stuff works fine for everyday stuff as it stands. -- rtl8185 freezes on connect to network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry, not using Xubuntu anymore. And this was short lived. I just indulged apport and let it send the automatic bug report. :) On Nov 27, 2007 12:55 PM, Jérôme Guelfucci [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Thank you for your bug report. [Bug 42478] Re: ppracer aborts after intro screen
I'd just like to report that I'm getting the same thing here. Intro screen loads, I press any key, and the game dies. The terminal simply says Core Dumped. I have the nVidia TNT2 and the nvidia-glx-legacy kernel. Also, when ppracer dies it leaves X at the smaller gaming resolution. Often it disables the mouse and the only way to get X back to normal is to restart it. Sorry I don't have any real information, but I sure do like this game. -- ppracer aborts after intro screen https://launchpad.net/bugs/42478 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 78027] Get Chrash Reports at xfce start. Apparently crashing at logout.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfce4-clipman-plugin I get a crash detected notification every time I log in to XFCE. It seems that the plugin is crashing at logout, but it doesn't do that if I say kill xfce4-panel. Doesn't seem to do this for other users on this system Not sure what it could be cause there aren't very many options or system variables that should cause instability in this panel plugin. ** Affects: xfce4-clipman-plugin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Get Chrash Reports at xfce start.
