[Bug 812688] [NEW] [ATIIXP - ATI IXP] ALSA test tone not correctly played back over SPDIF. Sound works on Headphones only.

2011-07-18 Thread Cesare T
Public bug reported:

I have ubuntu 10.04 installed on my PC and 5.1 surround system (Logitech
Z-5500). It works just fine on my laptop, but on my PC I cannot get
sound out through my SPDIF-out jack, which is the only way I get sound
out my computer. Sound comes out fine though headphones when they're
plugged in though. The SPDIF works just fine in Windows so I know the
system and all the connections to the computer are just fine.

I also know sound isn't even reaching the system at all via SPDIF
because the entire time I play anything in Ubuntu the display on my
system shows "No Digital Data" which is telling me that no sound is even
being transmitted through the cable from Ubuntu. In Windows, even if
the sound is very faint and soft enough to not be heard with the ear the
sound system will tell me that sound is being output on the display.

Here is the alsa-info.sh info. http://www.alsa-
project.org/db/?f=5b65c137db3fa81a3f7976cecf4bf96c13b18abd

[Bug 678051] [NEW] No flash player sound.

2010-11-21 Thread Cesare T
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

I had flash sound before. I don't know what happened. Maybe something
weird happened with software updates or something, but now I get NO
sound in flash player. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash
player several times and have made no progress as far as sound. I can
only hear sound normally through headphones (have not found a fix for my
system sound to come out through my optical connection yet). System
sounds work fine through headphones, and rhythmbox player works fine as
well through headphones. Flash player doesn't work at all.
