[Bug 164924] Re: [needs-packaging] Gladex

2009-02-16 Thread Charles Edward Pax
No objection from me. The the packaging method is not up to Debian or
Ubuntu standards. It's really just hacked together.

[Bug 164924] Re: [needs-packaging] Gladex

2008-11-30 Thread Charles Edward Pax
I haven't dedicated any time to Gladex in a while. Now that I've started
a new job teaching high school physics I don't expect to work on Gladex
any time in the near future. I would love to see Gladex in Debian or
Ubuntu, but I cannot be the person to get that done. Sorry.

[Bug 164924] Re: [needs-packaging] Gladex

2007-11-30 Thread Charles Edward Pax
There is a binary package available at
https://launchpad.net/gladex/0.4/0.4.1/+download/gladex-0.4.1-linux-2.6-intel.deb.
However it's created with epm rather than with the proper tools. The
binary package is good enough to install and uninstall the program, but
I don't think it conforms to any standards of what files go where.

Attached is the .list file used with epm to package Gladex-0.4.1. This
may be a good starting point for someone making a proper source package.
If someone puts together a source package I'd be willing to maintain it.
I just haven't learned how to properly create source packages from
scratch.

[Bug 122746] couldn't read file /usr/lib/tcllib1.8/base64/base64.tcl

2007-06-27 Thread Charles Edward Pax
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: saods9

OS version: gutsy, current as of 20070627 at 2306 EST
Package version: saods9 version 4.0b7-1.4ubuntu2.
Hardware: Apple PowerBook, 12 Aluminum

When I execute ds9 from the menu or the command line, two windows
appear. One is presumably the application itself, the other is an error
message reading:

An internal error has been detected:
couldn't read file
/usr/lib/tcllib1.8/base64/base64.tcl:
no such file or directory

When I close the window, ds9 poops out the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ds9
couldn't read file /usr/lib/tcllib1.8/base64/base64.tcl: no such file or
directory
while executing
source /usr/lib/tcllib1.8/base64/base64.tcl
invoked from within
if {$tcl_platform(platform) != windows} {
source /usr/lib/tcl8.4/http2.5/http.tcl
source /usr/lib/tcllib1.8/base64/base64.tcl
source /usr/lib/tcllib...
(file ds9.tcl line 27)
invoked from within
source ds9.tcl
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Corrective actions and results:
- install package cl-base64; same error
- install package cl-s-base64; same error
- install package tcklib; same error

[Bug 122224] Error while loading libtifftcl1.0.so

2007-06-25 Thread Charles Edward Pax
Public bug reported:

I have a gutsy install that is current as of 20070625 at 2257 EST. This
is running on a PPC Apple Powerbook. I have installed the asods9
package. After the install here is some command line output.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ds9
ds9: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/Img1.3/libtifftcl1.0.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

I installed libtiff4 to see if that would fix the problem. It didn't.
