[Bug 1608911] [NEW] Persistent SIM not detected error
Public bug reported: In the dual-SIM Aquaris E5, System settings > Mobile displays a SIM not detected error for SIM 1 even though the SIM is present and phone is registered on its network. Restarting, swapping SIMs around or toggling airplane mode does not solve the problem. ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1608911 Title: Persistent SIM not detected error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1608911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1607835] Re: Failed 'add new connection' records a new connection anyway
It is similar in a sense. Normally I would not need to select the network manually; it should connect to the network automatically whenever it is in range. I suspect that it didn't because there were already multiple entries of that network saved (conflict?), and in a bit to connect I selected the network again manually and each time it failed while still saving a new entry in the network list. Once I deleted all entries and created a new single entry, it connected normally. The AP is secured with WPA2-Enterprise PEAP/MSCHAPv2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1607835 Title: Failed 'add new connection' records a new connection anyway To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1607835/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1607835] [NEW] Failed 'add new connection' records a new connection anyway
Public bug reported: When adding a new wireless connection, if an incorrect setting selection is made the connection fails to add, as expected, with a warning (e.g. incorrect authentication) - this is the expected behaviour. However, the connection name gets saved under Settings > WiFi > Previous networks. This means if you, say, enter an incorrect password three times when trying to add a connection but get it right the fourth time, there will be four entries of the network you were trying to add, each suffixed by a number. The consequence is that in future the device fails to connect to that network when it is in range. Current solution is to forget all entries of the network and add it again (and get all settings right on the first try). ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1607835 Title: Failed 'add new connection' records a new connection anyway To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1607835/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1606955] [NEW] Renaming SIM in 'Mobile' does not change name in 'Phone'
Public bug reported: I recently changed one of the two SIM cards in my Aquaris E5. I then rename this SIM in System Settings > Mobile. Today, after updating to OTA-12, I noticed that System Settings > Phone still has the old name of the new SIM. I don't know whether this is related to the new OTA as I didn't check before the update. ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1606955 Title: Renaming SIM in 'Mobile' does not change name in 'Phone' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1606955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1323837] Re: Sim toolkit is not available on UT
I, perhaps selfishly, agree with the others that this should be assigned a higher priority than 'wishlist. A lot of service providers offer additional SIM functionality through STK. My provider, Safaricom, offers a mobile banking service, MPesa, which is actually the chief reason I use their service. Without it I cannot use my Ubuntu phone as my daily device (it just sits on my nightstand). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1323837 Title: Sim toolkit is not available on UT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/+bug/1323837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 555729] Re: package blcr-dkms does not support 2.6.33 or more recent kernels
This is how I got around the error: While the error message is still displayed (do not close it!), open a terminal and type sudo apt-get install blcr-dkms (without the quotes) and type your password when requested (it will not be displayed as you type), then let the installation proceed to the end. When it's complete you can close the error dialogue box and restart the upgrade. It should proceed beyond this roadblock. All the best with this. Charles.
