[Bug 586676] Re: Autosave error in OpenOffice.org

2010-05-29 Thread Chris Cheney
I wanted to make sure you did understand the autosave only autosaves
recovery information for if OpenOffice.org crashes, it doesn't actually
save over the document itself. You can test this is actually working by
typing a test line like I did, then immediately killing OOo then when
you restart and try to do autorecovery it will not recover anything. If
you set the autorecovery information to be saved every 1 minute and wait
until after it has saved the information before killing the process when
you go through recovery it will have the information to recover.

Here is video proving it is actually working.

Try clearing your cache and trying again, that might resolve the problem
as at least part of the problem are some packages that were corrupted
during download. There may be other upgrade issues in there as well. If
it still doesn't work you may want to uninstall all of the

[Bug 587246] Re: change standard fonts to free versions

2010-05-29 Thread Chris Cheney
I can't reproduce this issue when 'Times New Roman' is not actually
installed on the system. In that case it defaults to 'Liberation Serif'.
If a user installs the non-free fonts they will probably like it to use
them by default as they are the universal format to use in documents on
other operating systems.

Does this happen to you even when you do not have 'Times New Roman'
installed on the system?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect -p openoffice.org-core 586827

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using

about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 526971] Re: Styles: Unable to set font size in percentages after setting it in pts

2010-05-26 Thread Chris Cheney
[This is an automatic notification.]

This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you test
if it still occurs on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)?

Please note we also provide technical support for older versions of
Ubuntu, but not in the bug tracker. Instead, to raise the issue through
normal support channels, please see:

http://www.ubuntu.com/support

If you are the original reporter and can still reproduce the issue on
Lucid, please run the following command to refresh the report:

  apport-collect -p openoffice.org-core 526971

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to
give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it
at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding
information to your bug report.

If you are not the original reporter, please file a new bug report, so
we can work with you as the original reporter instead (you can reference
bug 526971 in your report if you think it may be related):

If by chance you can no longer reproduce the issue on Lucid or if you
feel it is no longer relevant, please mark the bug report 'Fix Released'
or 'Invalid' as appropriate, at the following URL:

This is really a bug but I am not sure what is setting the directory
yet. I couldn't find reference to the xdg stuff in fpicker so I am
assuming its somewhere in framework. Will update you once I find what is
setting it. It does work with both the gnome file dialog and the
internal OOo file dialog.

[Bug 584453] Re: openoffice problem greys out on saving

2010-05-23 Thread Chris Cheney
[This is an automatic notification.]

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

  apport-collect -p openoffice.org-core 584453

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 577038] Re: [regression] hard lock in openoffice when opening files from a remote NFS volume

2010-05-22 Thread Chris Cheney
I can't reproduce this problem saving to nfs on a Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
client connected to a nfs server running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

What operating system is running on the nfs server? What is the export
line from the server for the filesystem you are getting the lockup on?
Also what is the mount options on the client? The output from running
'mount' for the nfs share would be useful to see as well.

Thanks,

Chris
