[Bug 1903048] Re: [SRU] Bluetooth won't activate on the pi 400

2020-11-12 Thread Chris Wayne
What's the status of this? We desperately need this fix in Groovy, as
we're making lots of noise about the pi400 and this is a pretty glaring
hole in functionality.

[Bug 1806108] Re: Ethernet not working on rpi3 b+

2018-12-04 Thread Chris Wayne
@Steve

My understanding from Paul is that we're only seeing this issue
currently with the arm64 image we tested last week. While we're still
standing up the b+ automated testing infrastructure for core18 (we
currently need to working around some strange snapd behaviors), we just
tested manually and are unable to reproduce this issue on the armhf
core18 image with the same kernel. @Paul please correct me if I'm wrong
here

[Bug 30910] Re: Hardware Database not browseable

2017-11-27 Thread Chris Wayne
This isn't a case of folks 'being desperate to close this bug for good',
this is a case of 'this project is no longer viable or supported', and
therefore it is correct to mark this bug invalid. Yes checkbox still
exists, but we don't use hwdb, nor do we plan to resurrect it. For
checking on hardware marked as working with Ubuntu, the canonical place
to check is certification.ubuntu.com as Jeff pointed out in comment #47.
We will be leaving this bug as invalid.

[Bug 1610292] [NEW] Snap installed with --devmode can't use sudo (pkexec must be setuid root)

2016-08-05 Thread Chris Wayne
Public bug reported:

When installing a snap that has scripts that call sudo (in this case,
checkbox-snappy, available in the store on edge channel), any call to
sudo fails with "pkexec must be setuid root" when run on a classic 16.04
or 16.10 system. Calling the snap itself with sudo fixes the issue, but
for other reasons we would prefer to elevate to sudo only on scripts
where it is required.

snapd: 2.11+16.10
snap-confine: 1.0.38-3
Ubuntu 16.04 + 16.10

Expected results:

A snap installed with --devmode should be able to run sudo

Actual results:

Any call to sudo fails with the error "pkexec must be setuid root"

/custom/build_id should always be the epoch, as that's what the
custom-dconf upstart job checks to see whether dconf needs to be updated

[Bug 1394614] Re: Cached results stay in scopes even with no internet

Ill double check with the team, but I do believe this is the news scope
itself doing the caching, but to me that seems to be the correct
behavior. Why would a user prefer a completely blank scope rather than
the latest cached data?

[Bug 1393413] [NEW] Custom version string should come from channel info, not /custom/build_id

2014-11-17 Thread Chris Wayne

facilitate dconf updates. The version strng in /etc/system-

same version string here.

[Bug 1390581] [NEW] Card title text does not have appropriate color set when using image as card-background

2014-11-07 Thread Chris Wayne

When setting a card background, it appears that the card's text color
adapts to make sure the right color is used. This seems to work fine
when just setting a color, but when using an image as the background,
this is not done. This results in unreadable text.

[Bug 1386177] Re: All preinstalled clicks should be moved to custom tarball

2014-11-03 Thread Chris Wayne
@ogra

There are still those ones I listed in the rootfs, not all of the clicks
were removed. Though I agree that just removing shorts is adequate for
RTM

[Bug 1387216] Re: [Dash] Remove Header's Suru Background

2014-10-31 Thread Chris Wayne
The png is currently shipped with each scope, so even doing that would
still require merges to all the scopes. The code change is not
intrusive, and is the best way to accomplish this

[Bug 1386177] [NEW] All preinstalled clicks should be moved to custom tarball

2014-10-27 Thread Chris Wayne
Public bug reported:

From the PES team, we would like all click apps to be on the custom
tarball rather than in the rootfs. This gives more control over what
apps are installed, and allows us to free up some space on the rootfs
(as we've already allocated a certain amount of space for /custom, so
while moving apps to /custom won't change the overall disk space usage,
it changes the free space in the rootfs itself, by instead taking up
space in /custom.

[Bug 1374481] Re: Nearby and News scope do not load on reboot

2014-10-16 Thread Chris Wayne
As for comment 14, the el jueves scope has been fixed (and also removed
from the image) so that's not affecting anything (also was never part of
Nearby, so would only ever affect News) FWIW is was crashing on closing
down, so it launched and got the content fine, the issue was that go
scopes call SetScopeBase with nil on shutdown, which it wasn't handling
properly

[Bug 1381528] Re: [sound] doesn't list custom ringtones

2014-10-15 Thread Chris Wayne
I can shuffle the files around to make it easier. I'll create
/custom/usr/share/sounds/ringtones and
/custom/usr/share/sounds/notifications and put the relevant files there.
Is that helpful?
