[Bug 544812] Re: LUKS encrypted partition does not mount during boot
I'm in the process of upgrading from Karmic to Lucid and / is a LUKS encrypted LVM that mounts at boot after unlocking the partition. I came across this looking to see if there were any current bugs with unlocking/mounting LUKS partitions at boot. I'm posting before I run into any problems. If I do, I'll document them here. Otherwise, I'll report success. *fingers crossed* -- LUKS encrypted partition does not mount during boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544812 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 31037] Re: Vino-server takes 90% of cpu when only listening for incoming connections
I have the same problem on a HTPC running Jaunty. I don't need to VNC into the machine for this to happen. A day or two of uptime will eventually make the vino-server process start eating CPU resources up all by itself. A quick and dirty way to fix this is to just kill -9 the process. I keep screen running on the machine with top running in a window. I'll ssh in, screen -x, and just hit k within top, specify the PID of the vino- server process, and send the 9 signal to kill it. I haven't figured out why, but the process ends up restarting within a second of killing it. However, it isn't eating CPU resources when it restarts. -- Vino-server takes 90% of cpu when only listening for incoming connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/31037 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 473615] Re: cryptsetup init scripts are redundant and can break the boot
I appear to have the same problem yens is having, except I'm not prompted for the passphrase at all. Trying to mount the root device times out and I'm dropped into a busybox shell, where I can manually run cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda1 crypt1, but it won't continue booting. This problem appeared randomly, starting with a shared library error with libgpg-error0 not being in the initramfs image. Spent forever fixing that, but I still don't get prompted to enter my passphrase. [Bug 473615] Re: cryptsetup init scripts are redundant and can break the boot
Actually, I forgot something. Originally, I did get a prompt to enter my passphrase, but it kept coming back as incorrect. When I started trying to fix this problem is when the passphrase prompt went away entirely, and I would get the shared library error if I try manually mounting the cryptsetup command while in the busybox shell. Dunno if that extra bit of information will help. -- cryptsetup init scripts are redundant and can break the boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/473615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I ran into this problem on Karmic. I've tested this in Fedora, Red Hat, and CentOS without any problems. Trying to pattern match a directory with 'ls *[0-9]' will output the entire directory instead of the files it should match. I've tested this on multiple computers running Ubuntu 9.04 with the same results. To reproduce, 'cd /usr/bin' then run 'ls *[0-9]'. ** Affects: coreutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ls pattern matching listing incorrect files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
