[Bug 1073372] Re: Xorg produces high CPU usage, slow gnome-terminal
I'm glad I found this bug report. I was having exactly the same issue after I installed Ubuntu 12.10 (Had no such problem with 12.04). I had to reboot the machine every day or two as the UI was becoming very unresponsive and Xorg was using a lot of CPU. I also confirm that installing the libcairo2 (and libpixman-1) from the 13.04 repository solves the problem. [Bug 657855] [NEW] Systray icon menu is overridden by main window menu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity Hi, Today I updated my netbook to Ubuntu v10.10 and I noticed that it broke the usability of the application I develop: qBittorrent. As far I as understood, the main window menu (application menu) is now supposed to be shown in the system tray (so-called global menu on Unity). However, the qBittorrent application menu does not appear there (the global menu is left empty) and it is shown when clicking on the systray icon instead. This is obviously not ideal. The worse is that qBittorrent has a specific menu for its systray icon which is no longer accessible. I believe that this is a bug in Unity because existing applications should not have to be updated to work with Unity. However, if you think it is caused by an issue in my code, please point me in the right direction and I'll update qBittorrent. qBittorrent is based on Qt4. Thank you in advance. ** Affects: qbittorrent Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: unity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: unity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: unity Hi, Today I updated my netbook to Ubuntu v10.10 and I noticed that it broke the usability of the application I develop: qBittorrent. - As far I as understood, the main window menu (application menu) is now supposed to be shown in the system tray (so-called global menu on Unity). How easy is it to reproduce? It would be interesting to see the output of strace when cpu usage gets abnormally high. The libtorrent bug report seems to suggest an issue with device poll() implementation in asio. It would be interesting to see if it is the same issue here. I talked about this with the libtorrent author yesterday and he told me that it might be caused by invalid tracker URLs. He said that there are still some tracker announcing issues in v0.15.3 that he is hoping to fix for v0.15.4. An easy way to test it he said would be to create a torrent with an invalid tracker URL (for example not starting by http://) and load it. -- Memory leak - The memory is taking more and more space until the computer becomes deadly slow. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/639659 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 639659] Re: Memory leak - The memory is taking more and more space until the computer becomes deadly slow.
I tried to reproduce yesterday (with Ubuntu maverick and qBittorrent v2.4.0) but it seemed to work fine. How long does it take to eat so much memory? Also, Qt has been updated to 4.7 stable very recently on Maverick.
