[Bug 118595] Re: no way to add 'search domain' option to resolv.conf
Hrm, I'm not actually sure. I just know that somewhere in the pptpconfig gui, I could put lines that would eventually be added to resolv.conf when the connection was established. Sorry for being so vague. -- no way to add 'search domain' option to resolv.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118595 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 89120] Re: VPN Connection not added...
I encountered this bug also in Kubuntu 7.04. Here's my story... 1) I created a bad pptp connection profile because I didn't select the type. If you do that, it actually creates a file for it in ~/.gconf/system/networking/vpn_connections/profile_name_here which then won't allow you to reuse 'profile_name_here' when trying to create a new profile. 2) I deleted ~/.gconf/system/networking/vpn_connections/profile_name_here and tried to remake the profile via the gui, again using 'profile_name_here' as my profile name. Still no joy. 3) I figure what the hell, 'rm -rf .gconf .gconfd', still no joy. 4) Hrm, gconfd must be the settings for a daemon of some sort... instead of figuring out how to restart it, I'll just reboot. Finally, I'm able to make a pptp connection profile using 'profile_name_here' (and selecting the type this time around of course). I hope my post help some people, especially less experienced Linux users who are more liable to just give up. -- VPN Connection not added... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89120 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118595] no way to add 'search domain' option to resolv.conf
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp When my vpn connection is started, I want a line added to the generated resolv.conf: search mydomain.com I don't think there is anyway to set that up when creating a vpn connection with the wizard. I know doing what I want is possible because I used to do it when using pptpclient to manage my vpn connections. [Bug 69754] Edgy: kopete sending nbsp; instead of space
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kopete My gf keeps complaining that I'm sending messages with nbsp; in them. It only seems to happen when I send multiple spaces in a row. For example: Yes, I fed her. She seemed very hungry. appears in her Trillian 3.1 Basic chat window as: Yes, I fed her. nbsp; She seemed very hungry. This bug only started happened with I upgraded from Dapper to Edgy. We are using the AIM protocol. [Bug 50335] Re: Load average never below 1.5 on dapper
I have the same problem. My idle cpu usage is very high. Here is a pic of top: http://i6.tinypic.com/15573ev.png -- Load average never below 1.5 on dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/50335 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 50335] Re: Load average never below 1.5 on dapper
Sorry, I forgot to add that I'm using a Centrino based notebook. Pentium M, ATI Radeon x300, SATA hard disk, PATA cdrom. I have tried using both 'ati' and 'radeon' drivers for X, neither one lowered the cpu usage any. The problem seems to be related to X because if I login into single mode and look at top, my cpu idle % is 100. -- Load average never below 1.5 on dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/50335 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 44912] Re: Default desktop is too cpu hungry when idle.
I am experiencing this also on my Pentium M / Radeon x300 laptop. My coworkers laptops (Gentoo, Fedora Core 5, Centos) are all stready at 99% idle in the same situation, where as I am all over the place 10 - 100% idle. My entire desktop is sluggish because of it. The problem only occurs on my laptop. My desktop machine runs fine.
