[Bug 859723] Re: Nautilus appearance without colour or theme

2011-10-31 Thread Christopher Taylor
I'm seeing this behaviour as well since the upgrade to 11.10. My
.xsession-errors (attached) contains many of the following messages:

(nautilus:18981): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_value_get_object:
assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_OBJECT (value)' failed

and

(nautilus:22664): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_value_get_object:
assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_OBJECT (value)' failed

The number (timestamp?) after nautilus varies, but there are always many
consecutive messages with the same number.

[Bug 774997] [NEW] Xorg freeze after resume from suspend

2011-05-01 Thread Christopher Taylor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

since upgrading to natty (beta 2, but proplem persists in release
version), my monitor doesn't receive any signal (the monitor waits for a
signal and eventually goes into standby) after resuming from suspend.
I'm using a MacBook 1,1 with the lid closed and an external monitor as
the primary display.

Some more (probably unrelated) observations:

- booting takes a long time (2 minutes) and there's no display until gdm
starts up. This was the case with previous versions, too.
- I've noticed that when I leave the computer running overnight, sometimes the
windows from all desktops have moved to the first desktop in the morning. I
suspect something (compiz?) hung and was restarted.
