2006-09-08 Thread CiRuS

other then that same symptoms, after crash recovery wizard starts ...

Also how do I get debugging info from Oo, running from the command line
produced no output from the crash and I'm not sure how to run it in gdb.

[Bug 59418] gnome-applets is labeled as Invest Chart

2006-09-07 Thread CiRuS
Public bug reported:

What is labeled as Invest Chart is actually the gnome-applets package
and so removing or installing Invest Chart affects all applets

[Bug 59418] Re: gnome-applets is labeled as Invest Chart

2006-09-07 Thread CiRuS
Yeah this is exactly what I mean, in gnome-app-install (Add/Remove),
Instead of listing gnome-applets it is listed as InvestChart but it
is actually the gnome-applets package. Even the detailed description
describes it as gnome-applets.

Cheers

[Bug 59131] [edgy] usplash - no graphic displayed, resolution at 640x480

2006-09-06 Thread CiRuS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

when booting with usplash the graphic never appears and the normal boot
text appears on the screen except in low resolution (640x480 I believe).

I'm guessing that the image file for the splash screen is not loading
correctly or something of this nature.

about compiz?

Could you please attach a copy of /var/log/Xorg.0.log

[Bug 58841] Re: [edgy] compiz 0.0.13.38-0ubuntu3 fails

2006-09-04 Thread CiRuS
I was having this problem as well. With the newest packages everything
seems to be ok now. One important thing though is that compiz no longer
uses Gconf for its settings and a new program called csm (compiz
settings manager) is now used. Also a new start-up script is included
(/usr/bin/compiz-start)

Cheers

[Bug 58964] can't change case of letters in folder names on non-case sensitive fs

2006-09-04 Thread CiRuS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

If I want to change the case of a letter in the name of a folder through
nautilus I have to change the name to something else first. This
obviously only occurs on non-case sensitive file systems.

The error is the following:

The name whatever is already used in this folder. Please use a
different name.

While I understand why this behaviour occurs it does not provide a very
good user experience and less experienced users would just find it dumb.
