Hi sydenis,

I am not sure why you marked this bug as Fix Released/Commited - it's
not.

Can you please explain or undo your status-change?

Claus

Hi Dustin,

behavior seems ok. No issues there. Just the error message.

Anything you want me to try/test?

Other than the error message, are you seeing incorrect behavior?  If
 so, what specifically?

[Bug 445243] Re: gnome-display-properties cannot set virtual resolution

2009-10-08 Thread Claus Frein
Same for me. I believe the problem lies in the wrong calculation of the
virtual desktop-size.

I got two 1280x1024-Monitors, and in xorg.conf the follwoing parameter is set:
Virtual2048 2048

It should be:
Virtual 2560 2048

If i change it manually, it works immediately.

@Koterpillar: Your x-size seems to be to small. Try to set it at least
to Virtual 2304 1624 (or greater) and try it again.

[Bug 438335] Re: Boot messages show before xsplash kicks in

2009-10-05 Thread Claus Frein
After latest updates i still get these messages on the screen, they
appear ca. 15 seconds after grub-prompt. Grafix appear at about 7
seconds later, which means the screen is more or less black for about 27
seconds. The whole systems boots in about 1:05 minutes.

Please see attachement for bootchart.

(Just to get a comparison: a windows 7 boots in about 25 seconds on the
same pc to the login-prompt.)

[Bug 303619] Re: rdesktop no sound on local computer

2009-07-29 Thread Claus Frein
rdesktop with no sound? Sounds familiar to me.

But recently I found following post:
For some bizarre reason you seem to have to redirect another device in
addition to sound.

And suddenly - after additionally redirecting my local disk - local
sound starts working!

Hope this works for you too.

Nevertheless still remains a bug.

[Bug 173050] Re: update-manager does not correctly interpret gnome proxy configuration

2009-07-01 Thread Claus Frein
Same issue for me. Tested on jaunty.

I'd guess it's a problem for a lot of workstations/desktops in
companies, which usually have internet-access only through a proxy and
an internal apt-mirror for ubuntu-updates.

[Bug 285722] Re: can't preseed encryption status of user's home directory

2009-03-09 Thread Claus Frein
According to the installation-guide-i386 of ubuntu 9.04 the needed
option is:

d-i user-setup/encrypt-home boolean false

AFAIK this does NOT work with ubuntu 8.10.

Also there is no default defined, so that you cannot completely preseed
an installation (fix releases for jaunty, see Bug #328281)

These fixes should be integrated in intrepid.

[Bug 235315] Re: [Hardy] Laptop can't resume from suspend

2008-10-14 Thread Claus Frein
In Intrepid Beta (LiveCD) on an Acer Extensa 5520 it is not an issue any
more, it works out of the box!
