[Bug 1733398] Re: gunzip fails with message : not in gzip format
It has been working fine all along until this past week or so. I upgraded my machine to Bionic via the sed route and needed to patch a symbols file with that buildlog, but it won't gunzip it. As I said, I've never had any issues uncompressing buildlogs until now. cliv...@kubuntu.org:~ $ apt-cache policy gzip gzip: Installed: 1.6-5ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.6-5ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.6-5ubuntu1 500 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I have just noticed that the auto complete is inserting a / into the filename at the epoch. [Bug 1653952] [NEW] KDE Connect should not depend on plasma-workspace
Public bug reported: I've seen that the KDE Connect package on both Debian [1] and Ubuntu [2] depends on 'plasma-workspace'. The KDE Connect project aims for users of any desktop to be able to use it, and I think that depending on Plasma might discourage users from other desktops from installing it. As far as I know, there is no actual dependency from KDE Connect on Plasma, so it should be possible to compile and install kdeconnect without it. It is true that the GUI we ship with the kdeconnect package is a plasmoid, but the user is free to install another frontend (or use the command line tool) and just not use the plasmoid. Do you think this dependency could be removed from kdeconnect? Thanks! Version 1.0 of kdeconnect required an updated version on Qt which was only available in yakkety. We are working on backporting Qt to xenial, but with the release of Yakkety we had higher priorities. Version 1.0.1 removes that hard dependency on Qt and allows it to build on the version of Qt in Xenial. [Bug 1635758] Re: package kdeconnect-plasma (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop', which is also in package kdeconnect 1.0.1-0ubuntu1
Hi, thanks for sub'ing me to the report. My PPA's are for testing purposes only and should not be installed on a production system!! I'm quite shocked that an article such as this is recommending installing it from a PPA. When the KF5 port of kdeconnect was released, to keep them separated, the Kubuntu team decided to use new packaging called kdeconnect-plasma. However, upstream (KDE) did not follow this suggestion and continued releasing as kdeconnect. Debian then, only recently, used the old packaging for the KF5 port and we (Kubuntu) want to follow this path. The package does indeed need some replaces/breaks as you suggest. I was working on it to try and get it into Yakkety, but due to other commitments was not able to finish it. If you want to use the one in my PPA you will need to remove kdeconnect-plasma manually and then install it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1635758 Title: package kdeconnect-plasma (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop', which is also in package kdeconnect 1.0.1-0ubuntu1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeconnect-plasma/+bug/1635758/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
