[Bug 1630063] Re: specific USB devices disconnect and don't reconnect
latest update is looking good, this bug hasn't surfaced since I rebooted about 15 minutes ago (and the bug always appeared well before that, within 5 minutes if that) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630063 Title: specific USB devices disconnect and don't reconnect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1630063/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1630063] Re: specific USB devices disconnect and don't reconnect
Okay, spoke too soon, and found what might be the device causing all this headache: my USB headset that works just fine with kernels before this, but on 4.8 seems to cause issues with ohci-pci. The minute I plug the headset in (or seconds afterwards), ohci-pci dies, so I'm thinking it may be a driver issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630063 Title: specific USB devices disconnect and don't reconnect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1630063/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1630063] Re: specific USB devices disconnect and don't reconnect
Alright, results of that kernel aren't good, it doesn't even boot on my system, it just hangs just after grub hands over. But there was a new update for the 4.8 series, and for the meantime the usb bug doesn't seem to have hit yet, we'll see if it does before the end of tomorrow.

[Bug 1222586] [NEW] Gnome Online Accounts and Empathy don't connect to Facebook
Public bug reported: I have been experiencing this bug for a few months now in Ubuntu Gnome 12.10 and Ubuntu 12.04 (via Ubuntu Online Accounts) where when I add a FB account, it looks okay UNTIL I try and connect to it with, well, anything even the GOA itself, I tried 13.10 (like I usually do with alpha/beta releases) and this bug is still present, what's more is this bug is present in OTHER distros (I'm filing a bug on the Gnome bugzilla as I type), reason I'm filing this here is I'm making sure it's not something in Ubuntu that isn't playing nice (doubtful since Arch doesn't inherit the patches from Ubuntu) What I expected to happen: Facebook to work with GOA and Empathy, What actually happened: GOA looked like it tried to connect to FB, but gets an authorization error, I double and triple checked the details I entered, even resorted to copy/paste. [Bug 1169984] Re: 3.8.0-18 HDMI audio regression: Either oops or opening device fails with -ENODEV
the reason they don't go to 3.9 (this is my assumption) is that FGLRX doesn't support it yet, and possibly not Nvidia's drivers, and very possibly other proprietary drivers. They want Ubuntu to be usable by as wide an audience as possible, and going to 3.9 when many drivers don't support it is a big step backwards in that area. remember: Ubuntu isn't just about you, but EVERYBODY who uses it and works on it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169984 Title: 3.8.0-18 HDMI audio regression: Either oops or opening device fails with -ENODEV To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1169984/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1169984] Re: 3.8.0-18 HDMI audio regression: Either oops or opening device fails with -ENODEV
@ giacof, true, true, patches are a different beast than just upgrading the kernel, I wasn't even saying that patches should be applied. @ Cleber, the latest upstream AMD Drivers (13.4) only JUST got support for 3.8, nothing on 3.9 so I myself would be out a working video card (the open-source AMD driver doesn't work with my AMD Radeon HD 6670, kernel panic soon after boot) so I'd have to use my onboard AMD card, with is inferior to the PCI one.
