[Bug 863788]

2014-03-12 Thread Colin Church
Created attachment 54332
Spread sheet of purchases by month

This bug was first reported via launchpad at the beginning of october together
with the file and screen print of the problem. I am amazed it has taken so long
to fix.
1).Double clicking a chart to modify the data series does not allow access to
the format/ data range menu--it is greyed out.
2) The chart is not automatically updated with data changes,
3) f9 does not update chart.
4) Because of all the above, attempts to create a replacement chart,
recognising this is a new version of Calc, is also not possible when the data
is not in adjacent cells, using the traditional process

As nothing was received from running ubuntu-bug `pidof compiz` I think
that on crashing my network also was disabled. Also when choosing keep
instead of upload the tmp folder suggested was not created.

Further... If I log in at the start as Guest everything works as
expected.

[Bug 1072512] [NEW] Unity freezes on startup

2012-10-28 Thread Colin Church
Public bug reported:

After switching on my computer and logging in to ubuntu(unity) the first
touch of a launcher icon freezes the machine such that a restart is the
only way out.

If on startup I log into gnome classic (which works fine) and
immediately log out then log into ubuntu(unity) --not switching off --
everything works as expected with a very pleasing result.

Re: [Bug 667104] Re: Screen distortion with compiz cube rotation and recommended nvidia driver

2011-04-28 Thread Colin Church
Hi !.
I reported some time ago now that this problem was cured by un-ticking
nvidia in the startup group. Since removing it from the start-up
action no further problem. The problem still occurs with natty if I
allow nvidia in the start up, which obviously I no longer do.
Hope this helps

Hi, have you had a chance to test if this bug is still present in natty?

If it does (and if you're the original reporter), please boot into natty
 and run the command:

   apport-collect bug-number

which will update the bug with fresh logs and tag the bug as affecting
natty. (It is best to run this right after reproducing the problem.)

[Bug 667104] Re: Screen distortion with compiz cube rotation and recommended nvidia driver

2011-01-30 Thread Colin Church
It is now 31/1/11 , even after all suggested updates have been installed the
problem still exists. I have noted an occasional nvidia logo screen appear
briefly at start up (not often). I have also had the start-up work perfectly at
times.
I noticed that nvidia X server settings were included in the list of start-up
applications and unselected it, preventing it starting.

Up to now for four days and probably a dozen starts everything seems to
be in order.

Re: [Bug 420921] Re: Cannot save Calc file with specific chart data

2009-09-13 Thread Colin Church
Hi Chris,
A couple of days ago an update became available which included amongst
others a number of open office files.
Having applied this update I now find that the Calc spreadsheets I use
are now performing as I would expect. ie I can open and save modified
files. One thing I have noticed, which I guess is not terribly important
is that in order to use alternate columns for a data series, commas must
be used and not semi-colons to separate the data.
Happy now
Regards
Colin
