[Bug 513857] Re: fbreader "add file to library" button does not work

2010-05-18 Thread Corey Burger
I agree that the library mechanism in fbreader is very clunky. It seems
like there are two bugs here. The first is that fbreader doesn't seem to
save the library until after other settings are created, which I cannot
replicate. The second is that the entire library function needs to be
re-thoughtout. Would that be a correct assessment?

With regards to the actual bug, are you still seeing it with 10.04
released? I realized it the same version of fbreader, but I as I
mentioned, I cannot replicate your bug.

[Bug 414356] [NEW] Long delay of notification when adding multiple favourites

2009-08-16 Thread Corey Burger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

With notify-osd, the notifications get delayed while the user can read
them. However, in the case of adding new things to the favourites menu,
these notifications stack up and are delayed. Given the first
notification appears right away, this is likely to lead the user to
believe that the action hasn't taken place. Options to fix this include:

-the notifications to appear for less time and show as they are received
-have a 2nd box saying "X pending notifications" to indicate to the user that
their action has been
-change the notification to include the new app added, thus having multiple
apps in a single notification

[Bug 414349] [NEW] Doesn't remember last category viewed

2009-08-16 Thread Corey Burger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

By default the netbook launcher reverts to Favorites if it loses focus for any
reason. A better default would be to remember the last category opened and open
to that. Rationale is that if a user wants to access another program from the
same category they can do so. This is especially true of the system category,
where if a user fail out of the sudo password dialogue, they are dropped into
favourites and need to go find what they were trying to opening again.

[Bug 414346] [NEW] Quit button hidden

2009-08-16 Thread Corey Burger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

With the new UI for Netbook launcher, the quit button is only on the
Favourites screen. This means that turning off your computer now becomes
a hunting game. Previous versions of the launcher had the quit button on
the lower right sidebar, which is now removed. I would suggest either
moving the quit button to the left sidebar, at the bottom or returning
it to the panel.

[Bug 318249] Re: does not handle updated file images with changed md5sums

2009-04-10 Thread Corey Burger
This seems to be a generic bug with Transmission and checksumming
downloaded files. It will happily tell you that the files are correct
until you move them to another folder and actually force transmission to
recheck. Even "verify local data" doesn't work. Not having looked at the
code, there is a pretty serious bug here that needs to get sorted.

The major challenge with this, having spoken with Michael Vogt about

2008-01-11 Thread Corey Burger
Ok, lets break this out. There are two requests here.

1. You want to be able to plugin encrypted USB keys created on a Windows
machine and have them mount correctly
2. You want to be able to use the centralized management of keys for whole disk
encryption

Ok, for the former, you need to create a spec and detail the following (as well
as the rest of the normal process of a spec):
1. *Exactly* what pieces of software already exist on windows and any docs
about what kind of encryption they use

For the latter, you need to create another spec. This one needs to have
all details you have about how the centralized management of keys by
WDE/PGP works and any docs you might have.

If you need help with writing these specs, I can help you with that.

[Bug 182190] Re: How my company and MSFT are Ubuntu Linux - Please Fix!!!!

2008-01-11 Thread Corey Burger
I believe you are asking for the following items: encryption of USB keys and
whole disk encryption. Both of them exist in Ubuntu:
 For the USB key, see
http://www.emcken.dk/weblog/archives/164-Encrypted-USB-drive-in-Ubuntu.html
For the full root encryption, you need the alternate cd and need to manually
partition the computer creating encrypted drives.

If you need help setting these up, please ask a question on Launchpad Answers:
https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu

Some quick testing. This error appears when you run Metacity as well but
the difference is that Metacity is seeing it as a crash, unlike Compiz.

[Bug 120781] Re: Firefox hangs on websites when using gecko-mediaplayer plug in/gnome-mediaplayer/mplayer

2007-06-20 Thread Corey Burger
The problem is that we have no idea if the bug was caused by the flash
plugin, his own compiled stuff or something in the repositories.
Secondly, with a stock Ubuntu (and the shiny new codecs installation
stuff) it just works. We can try hard and debug issues, but when our
stuff works and custom stuff doesn't, it really isn't an Ubunt bug.

[Bug 119433] Re: When I play a video, I get a green screen

2007-06-09 Thread Corey Burger
Thanks for your bug report. However, you have indicated that you built a
custom cd with reconstructor and that you used Automatix, which makes
hard to determine whether the bug is in your custom cd, the known-buggy
Automatix or an actual part of Ubuntu. I suspect the issue is actually
related to your video hardware. Can you download a stock Ubuntu 7.04 cd
and test out your issue? If it reappears, please reopen this bug.

It has never worked, but ignore this, because Matthew Garret basically
said cpu scaling on Celeron M's is useless, due to them not having some

[Bug 99637] Font colour icon in -human icons is mushy and indistinct

2007-03-31 Thread Corey Burger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

With the new human icons in Feisty, the font colour changer icon is very
mushy and indistinct, primarily because it has two different things in
it: a really crappy letter, looks like a backwards R and a colour wheel.
Sadly Tango appears to have no metaphor for this, but I think the best
option would be several A's, of different colours.

[Bug 90562] Places child windows on the incorrect workspace

2007-03-07 Thread Corey Burger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

If you have a parent window that is spawing child windows, such as
gnome-app-install, metacity leaves any children on the workspace of the
parent. Compiz puts them on the currently active workspace, which most
frequently causes them to become lost.

[Bug 87226] Re: Since last up date Feisty freezes.

2007-02-22 Thread Corey Burger
You are getting random freezes? This is a very difficult situation to debug.
Here is what would help us:
-tell us where the freezing happens on boot, before login
-start your system and leave it at the login for several minutes. Does it
freeze there?
-restart your system and login. Launch no applications. Leave it running for
several minutes. Does it freeze there?
