[Bug 958751] Re: me-tv hangs during initialisation.

2012-04-29 Thread CoudCoud
I installed the ppa version (sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-tv-development/ppa).
It works for me.
If you want to launch it on a terminal, the command became me-tv-client
instead of me-tv.
The main problem I found with this version is you can't change the channels'
order.
But it can be a temporary workaround.

[Bug 192508] Re: mouse keys turns on randomly

2012-01-08 Thread CoudCoud
The bug is still unsolved in 2012.

It happened two times to beginners that belong to my LUG.
In 2010:
http://listengine.tuxfamily.org/linuxarverne.org/discussions/2010/04/msg00024.html
And recently:
http://listengine.tuxfamily.org/linuxarverne.org/discussions/2012/01/msg0.html

Fortunately they are using libre software for a long time now and are
convinced by free software philosophy, but I can imagine what could
happen to other beginners facing this problem.

They both use Ubuntu 10.04 but I used an up-to-date debian sid with
gnome shell 3.2, and the Shift+NumLock still activates the option (whose
is now in the universal access menu and not in the keyboard menu).

When will this feature be disabled? If not, is it possible to change
the combination to a more-difficult-to-accidentaly-strike-it one, such
as Ctrl+Alt+NumLock?

[Bug 619678] [NEW] removing the sidebar closing button

2010-08-18 Thread CoudCoud
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

There is a cross button displayed on the top right corner of the sidebar.
I've seen many new ubuntu users who have accidentally closed the sidebar by
clicking on this button.
To restore this sidebar you have to go in the view menu, find the option, and
check it again.
The ubuntu beginners I know are not able to restore it.

Couldn't it be replaced by a switch button in the tool bar (to
activate/deactivate it)?

I've quickly made a little mock-up.

[Bug 569948] Re: When multiple users login, GDM doesn't come back after any of them logs out leading to DATA LOSS for the others

2010-05-10 Thread CoudCoud
I have the same problem.
I installed lucid from a CD, keeping my /home installed on karmic on a
different partition.
As the reporter of this bug doesn't send the xorg logs, I send mine.
These are the logs obtained after I had to manually reboot due to the crash.

[Bug 335980] Re: Cannot narrow sidebar

This bug is quite annoying on low screen resolutions (1024x768) as the
whole window width is expanded, becomes wider than the screen, and can't
be resized.

[Bug 417509] [NEW] Bug in Seahorse's remote key search

2009-08-22 Thread CoudCoud
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: seahorse

I firstly published my public key using seahorse but I made an error on one on
the email adress of one of my my uids.
Then, as the version of seahorse I run (2.26.1) doesn't allow to revoke uids, I
used the gpg command line interface to revoke the bad uid, and to send the
modified public keyring to the server (gpg.mit.edu).

When I searched my name (matthieu) using searhorse's search, I realised
it has disappeared from the list (perhaps the manipulations I described
above are only a coincidence).

I used the cli to search my name (gpg --search-keys matthieu) and I
found my keys easily.

After a lot of manipulations, I finally understood that seahorse sees me
as user attribute packet and not as COUDERT Matthieu : I searched the
word matt instead of matthieu and I discovered that I wasn't alone
in that case, many other keyring are named like this.

You can try : search words of four letters (not those which you think
about ;-) ) : e.g. : cora, sieg - there are many people called
user attribute packet. I don't know why, but they seem to only appear
when I type four letter names.

I tried 2.27.1 (built version from
http://launchpad.net:~dranger003/+archive/ppa/+build/1128995) : the bug
remains.

My opinion : I also published a picture of me (and I think this is the
real user attribute packet item) : perhaps the search engine is buggy
and sees it as the primary uid.

I hope this problem will be easy to solve.
Thanks for the work you already did.
Matthieu COUDERT.

[Bug 144348] Re: Does not remember window position

2009-08-06 Thread CoudCoud
Hello,
I also noticed the same bug.
I had the empathy default jaunty version and it happened, now I have the ppa
repository version for jaunty, and it still happens.
I tried with and without compiz and I saw that the window hasn't got the same
behaviour in each case :
- with compiz : it moves down and right each time you minimize and maximize it.
the down moving distance seems to be the height of the window's top border.
- with metacity, it's a little bit odder :
   * sometimes it remembers its position, I haven't noticed when.
   * when there are no other windows on the top-left part of the desktop :
empathy's window seems to always appear in the same position : its top border
is sticked to the bottom border of the desktop icons (the first row). And its
left border is near the left side of the desktop. I added an attachment. to
show this position.
   * if another window is opened and occupies (even partially) the place where
empathy should be, empathy moves to different positions depending on the space
left around (e.g. : if there is enough space on the left of the other window,
empathy will maximize top-left, even if there is enough space elsewhere). As
there are too many different behaviours, I won't enumerate them all.

I hope that I explained my observation clearly enough, and that it will
help you to solve this bug.

[Bug 257753] Re: Can't block a contact with jabber protocol

2009-01-11 Thread CoudCoud
Hello,
I think it's a problem with the jabber.org server.
Here is what I did when I reported this bug :
I used two jabber.org accounts on two computers on my LAN.
When I tried to block a contact I was seeing him disconnected, but he could see
me connected.

Today I tried with the same computers, but with a jabber.org account and with a
gmail.com account :
When I tried to block a contact while using the jabber.org account, it didn't
work.
When I tried to block a contact with the gmail.com account : it worked, no one
could see each other.

Do I need to contact the jabber.org administrators ?
Does it happen on other servers ?

Thanks.

[Bug 257753] [NEW] Can't block a contact with jabber protocol

2008-08-13 Thread CoudCoud
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

I use jabber/XMPP protocol on pidgin 2.4.1 with Ubuntu 8.04.
Yesterday I confirmed the bug 248475 talking about the malfunction of the
invisible status.
I think the bug I report today is linked :
When I block a contact I can't see him, but he can see me (and send me
messages), it only happens with XMPP based accounts.
Is it a mistake in the implementation of the protocol ?
Will it be fixed ?

Thank you for all the work you do (and perhaps for your response).

[Bug 236264] [NEW] [Hardy] Evolution asks my pasword to unlock the default keyring since last update

2008-05-31 Thread CoudCoud
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hello
I use automatic connection option on gdm.
This is usefull as the computer is used by an association, so the user's don't
have to type any password, and I don't have to switch to another user to make
administrative tasks (I'm the only one to know the password).
But since the most recent update of evolution, this program asks a password to
unlock the default keyring.
This password is also the administrator password (I know I can change this
default keyring password, but I don't want to do so).
Is there a solution to come back to the former situation ?

I think these will be my last questions :
- now that I'm using a keyring which hasn't got a password, is it less secured
than the way my email passwords were stocked before the update ?
- will the fact that there are users using automatic connection be taken in
care on next updates (a way of storing the passwords depending on the mean of

Thank you.

[Bug 127456] lite-on burner : CD-R not recognised by nautilus and brasero

2007-07-21 Thread CoudCoud
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner

Hello,
I'm a french newbie who have recently installed Ubuntu Feisty.

The Lite-on CD-R burners (mine is a lite-on 12101) seem to have problems

Empty CD-R are not recognised.

I'm not the only one with this problem as I read on ubuntu-fr forum that

I read on the ubuntu-fr forum that there is probably no problem under
