[Bug 271519] Re: Low volume, No sound: Intel HDA 82801J (ICH10)
Same problem for me. I solved it by: 1. Open up the Volume Control (gnome-volume-control). 2. Click 'Preferences'. Enable Surround, Center, LFE, Side. Click Close. 3. Set Surround, Center, LFE, Side. Click Close to 100%. The bug (for me) really is Surround, Center, LFE, Side should be 100% by default. -- Low volume, No sound: Intel HDA 82801J (ICH10) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271519 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 173837] Re: gdmflexiserver or 'new login in a window' doesn't refresh screen
Samuel, Xephyr does work for me. However, after creating a new login, the window is automatically resized (by gdm, I assume) to be 1600x1200 which is unworkable on my 1280x1024 screen. Workaround for this problem is to disable RANDR. I'll open another bug for that, once I have more time diagnose. Workaround is to add the following to /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom [daemon] Xnest=/usr/bin/Xephyr -screen 1024x768 -extension RANDR -- gdmflexiserver or 'new login in a window' doesn't refresh screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 173837] gdmflexiserver or 'new login in a window' doesn't refresh screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm I have gdm-2.20.1-0ubuntu1 on gutsy. 1. Select Applications - System Tools - New Login in a Window. Observe new GDM login window displayed. Good. 2. Minimise GDM window. 3. Maximise GDM window. Observe the window is white, and not refreshed correctly. The cursor is visible, and the user is still able to enter a login name. I am running *without* Desktop Effects (compiz-fusion). Same thing happens with both xorg nv driver and the restricted Nvidia driver. The same thing happens if run from the command line, or from the User Switch Applet (after selecting the 'Create new logins in nested windows' option). [Bug 68053] Re: Eclipse will not start (Edgy)
I'd like to add that I get the same error with a downloaded version when I chown -R root:root on the eclipse folder. I thought that maybe if I chown the packaged install to my user it would fix the problem, however it did not Same here. I downloaded eclipse 3.2.1 for AMD64, unzipped, and it crashed with the same error. I downloaded 3.3M2 (development version) and that worked ok. -- Eclipse will not start (Edgy) https://launchpad.net/bugs/68053 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 31631] Re: Java applet makes Firefox crash, 100% cpu usage
Bug 59210 is not a duplicate of this bug. bug 59210 is about fonts, this bug is about java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed. -- Java applet makes Firefox crash, 100% cpu usage https://launchpad.net/bugs/31631 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 31631] Re: java applet - firefox 1.5.0.1 crash, 100% cpu usage
I removed pkgs sun-java5-bin, sun-java5-demo, sun-java5-fonts, sun-java5-jdk, sun-java5-jre, sun-java5-plugin. I removed /etc/java and /etc/java-1.5.0-sun/ Downloaded Sun's jdk-1_5_0_09-linux-i586.bin, extracted to /opt cd /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins sudo ln -s /opt/jdk1.5.0_09/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so And java applets works fine. I'm not sure why the sun-java5- pkgs didn't work. -- java applet - firefox 1.5.0.1 crash, 100% cpu usage https://launchpad.net/bugs/31631 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 31631] Re: java applet - firefox 1.5.0.1 crash, 100% cpu usage
Same problem here. firefox 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-ubuntu0.6.06 sun-java5-plugin 1.5.0-06-1 Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed. Java is failing to load the applet over HTTP it seems.
