Hi, Mark Esler <2069...@bugs.launchpad.net> (2024-06-19): > Thank you for taking the time to report this Cyril. No worries at all. > Do you know if Google intends to assign a CVE? That I don't know, I've been mainly in contact with CrowdSec's upstream developers (who notified me about the problem with the Debian/Ubuntu packages) and with the various Debian teams to see how to best address this in stable (i.e. security then release teams). [Bug 1617599] Re: Resume from suspend causes reboot, except if USB key is plugged in
I do not have windows, but I suppose that the same would apply on windows. It seems to me indeed that when the computer is woken up, the operating system doesn't even have a clue (as I can see in the various logs in /var/log) that is gets started up from scratch instead of being woken up from S3 mode. [Bug 1617599] Re: Resume from suspend causes reboot, except if USB key is plugged in
It seems to be a problem of misconfigured BIOS. In the first place I had to enable "USB Wake support" in the bios (v.A09) in order to allow the computer to wake up. Before that, it would just not wake up at all and needed a hard reboot to do so. [Bug 1617599] [NEW] Resume from suspend causes reboot, except if USB key is plugged in
Public bug reported: I have been struggling to find out how to get my laptop (Dell M3800) using ubuntu 16.04 to resume from suspend. It goes into suspend (with no errors in /var/log/pm-suspend.log). But when resuming, it immediately reboots, with no errors in /var/log/pm-suspend either. *but* Resume works perfectly when a USB key is plugged in (any key!). PS: I figured that out because suspend/resume works out of the box when using ubuntu 16.04 live CD, but not when using the fresh installed 16.04 afterwards. What's the difference?? There's a key in the USB port in the first case. So I tried suspend/resume with the *installed* version when a USB key is present: it works. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1617599 Title: Resume from suspend causes reboot, except if USB key is plugged in To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1617599/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1438510] Re: [REGRESSION] bluetooth headset no longer supports a2dp
Updated procedure for comment #35, allowing to install more easily Debian Testinf pulseaudio package on Ubunutu 16.04. 1. Stop pulseaudio. Then, backup and purge pulseudio user conf files. 2. Install pulseaudio Debian Testing (June 2016) packages over Ubuntu pulseaudio packages. This will appear as a kind of downgrade. See get-pulseaudio8-debian-amd64.sh script. If you use pulseaudio-module-x11 too, use the corresponding Debian Testing version too to satisfy dependencies. 3. Restart. 4. A2DP profile should now work as expected with the default BlueZ, pulseaudio configuration. Use pavucontrol to select A2DP profile if needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1438510 Title: [REGRESSION] bluetooth headset no longer supports a2dp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pulseaudio/+bug/1438510/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1438510] Re: [REGRESSION] bluetooth headset no longer supports a2dp
Same issue with the folowing BT headphones: * Plantronic BackBeat FIT. * Plantronic BackBeat PRO. * B&O Beoplay H8. The computer has a BT USB dongle: Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) CSR8510 A10 USB ID = 0a12:0001 The following procedure solved the problem for us: 1. Purge Ubuntu pulseaudio packages and conf files. Backup and purge pulseaudio user conf files too. 2. Install the corresponding packages from Debian testing (June 2016). See attached script (get-pulseaudio8-debian-amd64.sh). 3. Restart. 4. A2DP profile should now work as expected with the default bluez/pulseaudio configuration (Use pavucontrol to select A2DP if needed). Since Debian Testing (June 2016) and Ubuntu 16.04 are based on the same pulseaudio upstream version (8.0) this suggests that this regression is maybe due to a difference in Debian and Ubuntu packaging: either the compilation options, the default conf or the specific patches (e.g. Ubuntu packages include more specific patches). ** Attachment added: "get-pulseaudio8-debian-amd64.sh" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1438510/+attachment/4697122/+files/get-pulseaudio8-debian-amd64.sh -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1438510 Title: [REGRESSION] bluetooth headset no longer supports a2dp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pulseaudio/+bug/1438510/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1472471] Re: XServer crash logs the user off randomly
So, I switched to UXA, which I did by adding a file "20-intel.conf" containing this: Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" EndSection The bug seems to be gone this way. But apparently the UXA mode has its own problems (such as gnome-terminal invariably freezing the entire session (mouse included) for 15 secs). Hope that helps Thanks C. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1472471 Title: XServer crash logs the user off randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1472471/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1472471] Re: XServer crash logs the user off randomly
I dont have an /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Still, my /var/log/Xorg.0.log states that the accel method used is indeed SNA. In which file can I specify the "uxa" parameter? [36.193] (II) intel(0): SNA initialized with Haswell (gen7.5, gt2) backend It's using /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/*, but there's no file in there that would contain a "Device" section. Should I create a Xorg.conf file in /etc/X11/ from scratch and put that in it? [Bug 1472471] Re: XServer crash logs the user off randomly
Seriously? You would like me to back up all my data, wipe off my install, re-encrypt all my disks, re-install ubuntu, re-parameterize all the fonts/apps that took me a while to get working on a high DPI screen, just for the sake of testing if the bug has been fixed in the next (still not even beta) release? I wold not like to sound rude, but that stands really beyond the limit of the help I can practically provide. Honnestly, 14.04 being long term support, I will stick to it. As I said, if you need me to install intel_drv with debug symbols, please tell me how and I'll do it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1472471 Title: XServer crash logs the user off randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1472471/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1472471] Re: XServer crash logs the user off randomly
I could not reproduce that bug using the live CD for 1 hour. Given that I'm not using unity, given that the bug happens in a way that is very unpredictable (sometimes 2-3 times in a row in 10 minutes, then nothing for several days), this does not mean that this bug is fixed. I'm not even sure that the live CD uses the same driver (intel_drv) which seems responsible for the crash. That bug happened to me once again 1 hour ago (exact same callstack). Being myself a developer, I can if you indicate me how, install debug symbols for that module (does this exist?) and give you more info. From my experience, a bug like this seems to depend on some unitialized variable which value depends on what's in the graphics memory at the time of use. Is there a way not to use intel_drv? thx for the help -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1472471 Title: XServer crash logs the user off randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1472471/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1101402] Re: No support for German language gimp kubuntu 12.04 LTS
that's right, since I'm using Kubuntu (KDE), I (wrongly) assumed that I didn't have to install gnome package but I forgot that Gimp is using gtk libraries and indeed, after installing language-pack-gnome-fr it works! as a side note, it is interesting to see the different approaches between Debian who chooses to install all language within each package, and Ubuntu who prefer to have all localisations/translation for all packages but on only the desired languages thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1101402 Title: No support for German language gimp kubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/1101402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1101402] Re: No support for German language gimp kubuntu 12.04 LTS
I confirm that the gimp package in Ubuntu doesn't ship with *ANY* localisation (it's not only a problem with German translations) while the Debian package has it as a consequence, in Debian there are several files in /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES : ls -l /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 31857 oct. 16 16:00 /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20-libgimp.mo -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 288394 sept. 21 03:28 /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20.mo -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5915 sept. 21 03:28 /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20-python.mo -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 45770 sept. 21 03:28 /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20-script-fu.mo -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 212059 sept. 21 03:28 /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20-std-plug-ins.mo -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13902 sept. 21 03:28 /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/gimp20-tips.mo and this is not the case in Ubuntu comparing both packaging (the debian/rules file), in Ubuntu there is a "cleaning" in the common-install-impl:: part (lines 43-49) that seem to delete all the GETTEXT_PACKAGE conclusion: either Ubuntu should not delete the l10n files, or create some sub-package for each languages (gimp-l10-de gimp-l10-fr, etc.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1101402 Title: No support for German language gimp kubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/1101402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1287247] [NEW] Trove classifiers
Public bug reported: This package lacks trove classifiers. I would add them, but I'm not sure whether it works with Python 3. The trove classifiers really matter, since they're used by both humans and scripts (https://github.com/brettcannon/caniusepython3) to know what versions of Python are supported. ** Affects: python-nosehtmloutput (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1287247 Title: Trove classifiers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-nosehtmloutput/+bug/1287247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
