[Bug 1742956] Re: Quassel-client has no menu bar

2018-01-15 Thread Daniel Albers
The menu can also be re-enabled from the context menu in the chat view, i.e.
right clicking the chat background.
This bug report is of course still valid, though.

[Bug 1431332] Re: sddm not starting after upgrade

2017-01-01 Thread Daniel Albers
I was asked to fix a machine affected by this after upgrading from
trusty to xenial (LTS releases).

On this machine systemctl start sddm started sddm successfully, but
enable did nothing.

Reinstalling the sddm package added the previously missing
/etc/systems/system/display-manager.service symlink, which fixed the
issue.

[Bug 1454010] Re: client crashes when monitor unplugged

2016-02-03 Thread Daniel Albers
Quassel should really save any signal handler that is in place before
installing a new one. After handling the signal, the original one should
be restored and the signal be re-raised. I thought we were already doing
that, but looking at
https://github.com/quassel/quassel/blob/17311326016f3654fd33a656b2a0c4ac95776db6/src/common/quassel.cpp#L104
that's not the case. Will try to look into that.

As for this bug, the trace points to Qt and there seems to be a series of bug
reports about xcb event handling that seem relevant, e. g.:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-44158

[Bug 1370893] Re: quassel nickname changed to some random number/letter combination after loging in kde plasma next and back to kde 4 in kubuntu 14.04

2014-09-18 Thread Daniel Albers
Sounds like the first Quassel instance isn't stopped when switching to
plasma5. Then when switching back another Quassel instance is started.
This second instance tries to use the nick name that's blocked by the
first instance, so the IRC network assigns a random string as nick name.

I'm experiencing the same behaviour in lucid as described in this bug

#224517, since a comment states, that the screen does get locked after
waiting for I/O heavy resume tasks to finish.

[Bug 509287] Re: [Needs Update] Quassel (Ignorelist adding ctcp ignore)

2010-01-19 Thread Daniel Albers
Quoted from http://bugs.quassel-irc.org/projects/quassel-irc/wiki/FAQ
#How-do-I-ignore-CTCP-requests:

Versions 0.5.2 and newer offer a "CTCP" type in the ignorelist settingspage.
If selected, the rule is parsed as follows:
hostmask [CTCPCMD CTCPCMD]
For example "* VERSION PING" would ignore VERSION and PING requests for any
hostmask.
If no CTCPCMD is given, all requests are ignored.
Only global- and per network scope are supported.
Since CTCP is ignored on the coreside, "Strictness" is always permanent.

[Bug 185589] Re: in XFCE cannot unlock user&groups: "could not authenticate. An unexpected error has occurred"

2008-06-01 Thread Daniel Albers
With a fresh install of Hardy, updates added I was able to unlock for
administration tasks. After adding another
admin user, neither I nor the admin user can unlock. Popup says
  Could not authenticate
  An unexpected error has occurred.
A side effect is that navigating from System --> Adminstration, there is no
longer
the option to install applications. This has happened on three Hardy installs.
Fortunately one of the first things I
did after install is change the root password, so that at least I can visudo,
etc.
