Experiencing the same symptoms here under 12.04. Just commenting to
helpfully help get some visibility.

I don't know why more people don't use focus follows mouse, and auto-
raise. Probably because the option has been completely removed from the
default menus as posted above. These are pretty standard features for X
Window Manager, why make them so difficult to configure? Now you have to
know the feature exists and search for a way to enable it.

I appear to be a similar problem in 6.10. GOK crashes on start and if I
attempt to launch it from the menu. Crash report attached.
