[Bug 1444637] [NEW] deluged start script does not work

2015-04-15 Thread Daniel Bermudez G.
Public bug reported:

daniel@ss105 ~ % lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
Release:14.04

daniel@ss105 ~ % apt-cache policy deluged
deluged:
  Installed: 1.3.6-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 1.3.6-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 1.3.6-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Ok so this is the problem:

daniel@ss105 ~ % sudo /etc/init.d/deluged start
 * Starting Deluge BitTorrent Daemon deluged

 [ OK ]
daniel@ss105 ~ % sudo /etc/init.d/deluged status
 * deluged is not running
daniel@ss105 ~ %

I think the package maintainer should use the script in http://dev
.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide/Service/Upstart for the deluged
package.

I do not understand why the start up script is broken.

** Affects: deluge (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 203506] Re: iwl4965: 802.11n not compiled in by default

2008-11-04 Thread Daniel Bermudez G.
All I know is that you should be using driver iwlagn instead of iwl4965
and that I'm having a lot of problems connecting to my access point
since I upgraded to Intrepid.

Also when I finally connect, the transfer rate never gets higher than 2
MB/s :(

And why is the status: Won't-Fix?

I can't believe we are so far behind and it seems no work is being put

[Bug 59695] Re: High frequency of load/unload cycles on some hard disks may shorten lifetime

2008-07-31 Thread Daniel Bermudez G.
I just got a new Dell laptop and I'm getting an average of 31 clicks per
hour. Load_Cycle_Count / Power_On_Hours = 1706 / 55.

I just went to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerManagement to try to fix
this but the How to get disks idleing correctly (without excessive load
cycling) part is everything but clear.

Why ask people not to use this as a support forum but don't provide a
link to a support thread?

I'm using Suse until Ubuntu can get this sorted out. Maybe Ubuntu should
use Suse's fix.

[Bug 238742] Re: Some read emals are maked as unread

2008-06-10 Thread Daniel Bermudez G.
It happens when I close the program with the x button and also when I
shutdown my computer without exiting evolution first. I get the same
behavior on both of my accounts, and both are with Gmail.

The emails are marked as unread, I have to click again on them and wait
for 2 or 3 secs before its marked as read again.

[Bug 238742] [NEW] Some read emals are maked as unread

2008-06-09 Thread Daniel Bermudez G.
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Fist of all, this doesn't happen every time but it does happen enough
for it to be annoying.

I open Evolution and read all my mail, close it and then the next time I
open it, some of the mails I have already read, are marked as unread
again. This behavior also happens when you select the Inbox and mark all
messages as read.

This started when I changed my gmail accounts from POP to IMAP so I
think this is only an IMAP problem.

Both of my computers are affected, one is x86 and the other is x86_64.
I'm using Ubuntu Hardy , all updates, Evolution 2.22.2-0ubuntu1.2

Re: [Bug 59695] Re: High frequency of load/unload cycles on some hard disks may shorten lifetime

2008-02-06 Thread Daniel Bermudez G.
I agree, the lack of a working fix is very disappointing but I really
don't think there is a lack of effort to solve it.

BTW your comment doesn't help at all, instead of making threats why
don't you try talking to Dell about your problem, after all you have a
warranty and they should give you a solution that works for you.

I cannot believe the lack of attention that this bug is getting. I would
try to fix it, but I'm still a noob. I used several different fixes, and
my HD either overheats or the load cycle doesn't slow down. I think that
if no progress in made by release 8.04, I'm either going to search for
another distro or maybe go back to Windows, although I shudder at the
 thought.

I don't need my laptop ruined over a lack of effort by software
developers. I just spent all my money on getting one with Ubuntu pre-
installed from Dell. (I'm pretty much broke now!)

the point is; we users want updates on what is happening with this
issue, this is taking a lot of time without a real fix and we are
talking about affecting hardware. So even if I change OS right now, the
damage is done.
