[Bug 1112992] Re: Text becomes grainy/pixelated after compiz crashes

2013-03-06 Thread Daniel Cooper
** Summary changed:

- Text is fuzzy/out of focus
+ Text becomes grainy/pixelated after compiz crashes

** Description changed:

- Text appears blurry or less-defined than it should, it's so very minor
- but is rather annoying, not sure what causes it other than the earlier
- signs of compiz crashing and the same thing happening.
+ Text becomes grainy/less-defined when compiz comes back after crashing.
+ It's quite minor but is rather annoying and clearly shouldn't be doing
+ it. Not sure what causes it other than the earlier signs of compiz
+ crashing and the same thing happening.

I first found that compiz would crash when using a display indicator
- (Disper) when switching to a single desktop mode too early after logging
- in. It then might do it randomly and now it just does it as soon as I
- log in.
+ (disper-indicator) when switching to a single desktop mode too early
+ after logging in. It then might do it randomly and now it just does it
+ as soon as I log in.

  Screenshot attached.

- Please help me provide more description.
+ Please help me provide more description and/or terminal outputs.

[Bug 982434] Re: Opening the dash causes memory usage to climb dramatically, and never comes back down

2013-02-23 Thread Daniel Cooper
I've just been using my pc normally for some java development (eclipse, jetty
etc.) and noticed my RAM usage was quite high, after closing everything it was
still at ~75% used. Open system monitor to find compiz with 3GB of RAM.
extract from `pidstat -r -p 2101 60 100 mem.log`

Linux 3.5.0-25-generic (ubuntu-PC) 23/02/13_x86_64_
(4 CPU)

20:06:55 PID minflt/s majflt/s VSZRSS %MEM Command
20:07:55 2101 7.10 0.00 5695912 4271176 52.35 compiz
20:08:55 2101 7.42 0.03 5730728 4300132 52.71 compiz
20:09:55 2101 4.12 0.00 5753256 4326756 53.03 compiz
20:10:55 2101 4.45 0.00 5781928 4353412 53.36 compiz

Any ideas of any logs I should take to post here?

[Bug 1112992] Re: Text is fuzzy/out of focus

2013-02-02 Thread Daniel Cooper
It seems to be on all applications and anywhere with text, it's hard to
tell without having a comparison. Nautilus looks fairly normal, but it
may be something to do with the way that font is rendered compared to
others?

[Bug 127964] Re: font rendering problems in Gutsy w/ compiz

2013-02-01 Thread Daniel Cooper
I have the same problem and I'm pretty sure it's related to compiz? Text
isn't rendered or as defined as it should be.

[Bug 1048792] Re: org.freedesktop.Dbus error while trying to erase USB key with Startup disk creator

2013-01-16 Thread Daniel Cooper
I'm having the exact same problems. Seems that all 8GB of my RAM was
gobbled during the bug reporting so was unable to send it.
