[Bug 454867] Re: after install prelink I must activate it. why?

2009-12-04 Thread Daniel Hermansson
I asked Kees Cook on IRC about prelink and this was his answer:
kees prelink isn't really very useful on modern systems.
kees the load-time speed was solved with the gnu-hash symbols stuff about 2
years ago, and the random-ordering is done already with kernel mmap ASLR
kees so, from my perspective, prelink is harmful.

[Bug 455939] Re: gnome-panels moves to second monitor on kms/ums switch

2009-10-27 Thread Daniel Hermansson
I fixed this by moving the cables. The problem with just dragging the
panels to the right monitor is that after logging in the next time the
panel applets get unsorted and don't stay right aligned and I have to
move them. And when one of them shrink, when there's no weather update
I have to move the applets left to the clock (indicator and notification
applets). It's the same if i have less icons in the notification area.
I had to remove ~/.gconf/apps/panel to reset my configuration. I think
this only happen when the monitor where the panels first get created is
smaller than the screen you move them to. I'll report this upstream when
I have time.

2009-07-23 Thread Daniel Hermansson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

flashplugin-installer has this on line 37 and 55 in its prerm script:
[ `update-alternatives --list $p-flashplugin | wc -l` = 0 ] \
which does not work as intended because updates-alternatives outputs errors to
stderr.
obvious fix is to change lines 37 and 55 to:
[ `update-alternatives --list $p-flashplugin 21| wc -l` = 0 ] \
and flashplugin-installer is uninstallable again.
