[Bug 964990] Re: [Ubuntu 12.04] partitions with ext2 are NEVER cleanly unmounted on shutdown/reboot

2012-06-04 Thread Daniel Lupulescu
Install Ubuntu 12.04 on usb pendrive formatted ext2
On first system boot do a full system update
After reboot a normal fs check is performed
On next reboots you shoult not see the fs check
Ext2 filesystem is normally forced checked every 20 or 30 mounts
You can tune that behaviour using tune2fs

I hope this helps!

[Bug 902296] Re: /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf failed

2012-05-27 Thread Daniel Lupulescu
Workaround with help from someone from my (duplicate) bug:

"Till Kamppeter (till-kamppeter) wrote on 2012-05-26:#1
Any form of printing from the network to a cups-pdf printer does not work as it
cannot be determined into which user's ~/PDF directory the resulting PDF should
get dropped."

So, edit(as root) /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf and uncomment line with AnonDirName
and specify your user path dir name: Eg: AnonDirName /home/daniel/PDF (don't
forget to make PDF folder manually if it doesn't exist)
Save and restart. It should work.

The bug stil needs fixing for an elegant default solution.

Temporary workaround:

Hello

I have found a temporarily solution for pairing keyboard less device
like GPS unit.

1) First operations is finding the GPS device address with this command:

hcitool scan
Scanning ...

 00:13:F1:01:40:AE BT-GPS 0140AE

 00:18:8D:11:5F:F3 Zinux6680

Record the BT-GPS address, this is used later.

2) Enable the authentication on the pc blue-tooth dongle.

sudo hciconfig hci0 auth

3)Create a connection with the device
sudo hcitool cc 00:13:F1:01:40:AE

Now a popup menu request the pin for the device, insert it.
-
And for printer add i Found this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=423519
In CUPS web config enter device uri without dots (0013F10140AE)
