[Bug 578116] [NEW] NetworkManager is disabled from a failed wake from suspend

2010-05-10 Thread Daniel Pay
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

When the laptop refuses to wake from suspend and requires a hard
restart, the NetworkManager is disabled in KDE and requires it's state
to be removed and restarted because it still thinks it is suspended. i.e
to fix the problem I need to do:

sudo service network-manager stop
sudo rm /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state
sudo service network-manager start

Using Kubuntu Lucid Lynx on a Compaq Presairo C768TU Laptop

2007-02-21 Thread Daniel Pay
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-generic

After installation with the alternative amd64 herd4 cdrom, the default

ati radeon x800gt
albatron k8nf4x-754

That's the only hardware that I can think of that could be causing this.
If you need more information please ask.

[Bug 86676] Re: default kernel doesn't load. only recovery works

2007-02-21 Thread Daniel Pay
I would add me grub menu list but I've changed it since then. I
compiled my own kernel and I was still getting the same error so I
removed the quiet option from menu.lst and now it's working fine.
