Is there a workaround to this bug? I ended up with a system half-

[Bug 1811588] [NEW] Seahorse doesn't show passwords anymore

2019-01-13 Thread Daniele Besana (WP-OK)
Public bug reported:

After upgrade to Ubuntu 18.10, Seahorse doesn't show passwords anymore.

Here the behavior:
1. I open seahorse and I see Certificates, GPG keys, secure shell.
2. After ~10 seconds, the Passwords section appears
3. It contains two folders: Login and Default.
4. Both folders are empty and saved passwords are not visible.

I already removed "dbus-user-session" as suggested here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1689825

But it didn't solve.

Thanks

[Bug 1742482] Re: Double-click doesn't open default application

2018-02-06 Thread Daniele Besana (WP-OK)
** Summary changed:

- Bluefish asks to download files from Nautilus FTP window
+ Double-click doesn't open default application

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 18.04
  Nautilus 1:3.26.0-0ubuntu1
- Bluefish 2.2.9-1
+ Bluefish 2.2.10

- When I open a file from a FTP server browsed with Nautilus, Bluefish
- asks to download the file instead of open it as it was in the previous
- versions.
+ When I open a .php file from a FTP server browsed with Nautilus, Chrome
+ is opened instead of the default application Bluefish.

  Steps to reproduce:
- 1. Connect to an FTP server via Nautilus
- 2. Open the file with Nautilus
- 3. Nautilus will ask for the download location
+ 1. Connect to an FTP server via Nautilus
+ 2a. Double-click on a .php file: chrome opens and the file is downloaded
+ 2b. Right click and select 'open with' and then Bluefish: the file is opened
in bluefish as expected

- If I try to open the same file with gedit it works well, that's why I
- think is Bluefish bug.
+ So, on the double-click from Nautilus the wrong app (chrome!) is opened
+ even if the .php files are associated with bluefish.

  Thanks

[Bug 1742482] Re: Bluefish asks to download files from Nautilus FTP window

2018-02-05 Thread Daniele Besana
Hello Innocent,

Thank you, I have some more info and they lead to a problem in Nautilus
rather than bluefish.

Here are the updated steps:
1. Connect to an FTP server via Nautilus
2a. Double-click on a .php file: chrome opens and the file is downloaded
2b. Right click and select 'open with' and then Bluefish: the file is opened in
bluefish as expected

So, on the double-click from Nautilus the wrong app (chrome!) is opened
even if the .php files are associated with bluefish.

Can you transfer this bug to nautilus?

Thanks
Daniele

[Bug 1742482] [NEW] Bluefish asks to download files from Nautilus FTP window

2018-01-10 Thread Daniele Besana
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 18.04
Nautilus 1:3.26.0-0ubuntu1
Bluefish 2.2.9-1

When I open a file from a FTP server browsed with Nautilus, Bluefish
asks to download the file instead of open it as it was in the previous
versions.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect to an FTP server via Nautilus
2. Open the file with Nautilus
3. Nautilus will ask for the download location

If I try to open the same file with gedit it works well, that's why I
think is Bluefish bug.

Thanks

[Bug 1537560] [NEW] Picasa auth lost periodically

2016-01-24 Thread Daniele Besana
Public bug reported:

The Picasa authentication is periodically lost and can't be recovered.
The 'login' button doesn't open the authentication window.

The solution is to delete and recreate the Google Online Account in Ubuntu.
The problem has been there for the last few Ubuntu versions.

[Bug 693380] [NEW] Evolution keeps e-mail unread

2010-12-22 Thread Daniele Besana
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Since the distribution upgrade from Ubuntu 10.4 to 10.10, Evolution doesn't
mark the e-mails as "read" when I open them.
The shortcut "CTRL+K" or the mouse right-click + "Mark as Read" work fine, but
the e-mail is kept unread if I double click on it.

I don't have the option "Mark messages as read after X seconds", but
even with that option the e-mails are not marked as read if I open them.

Thanks!

[Bug 363150] Re: ipw2200 page allocation fault - no wlan until reboot

2009-07-05 Thread Daniele Besana
Hi all,
I run into the same bug.
I found it easily to replicate as it happens always when I'm running the
bittorrent client Transmission, or often when I'm on a Skype call.
I guess this has to do with the network traffic generated.

To work around the issue without reboot it's possible to reload the "ipw2200"
kernel module with:
modprobe -r ipw2200
modprobe ipw2200

In attachment the file "debug.txt" with:
'cat /proc/meminfo', 'cat /proc/slabinfo' and 'cat /proc/zoneinfo'

[Bug 236030] Re: Office Communicator web access doesn't open chat window

2008-08-22 Thread Daniele Besana
>From Bug 193846:

Shannon VanWagner wrote on 2008-08-14: (permalink)

I'm using Firefox/3.0.1 and the communicator sub-window loads and shows
my contacts but neither double-clicking the contact nor right-clicking
the contact, then "Send an Instant Message" does anything. Apparently
what it should do is create yet another child window with the chat
dialog for the contact where you can type something in and see messages
coming back.

I tried this both on Firefox/3.0.1 on Ubuntu Linux 8.04 and even on
WinXP Firefox/3.0.1 and it doesn't work in either place. I've used the
"Report broken site" link in Firefox/3.0.1 but since my OCWA is an
internal server, I'm not sure how much information they received from my
report.

I also tried epiphany web browser - same behavior as described above.

What works for me is the SeaMonkey 1.1.9 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux
i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080313 SeaMonkey/1.1.9 (Ubuntu-1.1.9
+nobinonly-0ubuntu1), as it allows the proper child windows to launch
and I can chat with my Windows bound buddies.

Please let me know if you need more details.

Regards,

Shannon VanWagner

The problem didn't exist in firefox 2 untill a recent package upgrade.
The application was working before on Firefox, this is a problem that started
with FF3 and then with FF2 as well.

It's really a problem, what can we do to help providing a fix?

Thanks
