A new symptom, connected but no internet, i have 2 on 4 of signal but
nothing comes out from various browser, tested with latest driver
available with Ubuntu 14.04 and 15.10, both are unusable.

Same here, poor wifi signal (not true) in the same place with Windows 10

Yes , but in 12.04 this not happen, i can use every wallpaper in my
folder "Images" and lightdm changes it's background in line with the
wallpaper choose, maybe this could help.

Noticed that, if i install older versions of Chrom*, the problem won't appear 
so maybe it's a bug from newer versions of those browsers.

Dmitri solution worked also for me (Sony Vaio VPCEB3M1E), but with
Ubuntu 11.10 i can't configure my touchpad, due to the fact that in the
"Mouse and Touchpad" section there is only the mouse option not the
other one, but after "patching" with Dmitri solution, i had this option
but my touchpad doesn't work!.
