[Bug 930148] Re: Dodge windows is down but what about making the launcher autohide only on maximised apps ?
@Ego - just ignore the sad excuses, set the launcher to auto-hide with minimum sensitivity, and install cairo-dock and be done with it. "Dodge Windows" (a misnomer proving this feature is misunderstood - it's the real "auto-hide") with very fine-grained settings (only hide when active window overlaps etc.) will give you what you want, still have [Super] for bringing up Dash. Some wasted resources, but you don't have to put up with the humbug launcher behaviour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930148 Title: Dodge windows is down but what about making the launcher autohide only on maximised apps ? [Bug 948053] Re: nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 uninstallable on Precise
@Timo #46 "subscribe to this bug [...] and wait" is not an option after booting into a broken X (NVIDIA 8400 GS). @Nicolas #7 / #8 Thank you, the downgrade worked fine - while I waited for my new graphics card to arrive... The NZ$80 card (NVIDIA GT 520) arrived the next day. I removed the oneiric source and pin again, reran update/dist-upgrade and then installed nvidia-current. All working now. @Timo #9 What's "silly and dangerous" is not mentioning a showstopper in the release notes. Esp. when it is being described as "well known". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948053 Title: nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 uninstallable on Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/948053/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 433359] Re: nb205 UNR karmic dist upgrade touchpad input required to boot, X mouse disabled
In a discussion thread regarding Ubuntu on the NB205 [1], someone reported the same issue [2] and someone else recommended to force a maximum C-state level of 1 on the CPU [3], e.g. in /boot/grub/menu.lst: defoptions=quiet splash processor.max_cstate=1 It's a workaround - no idle states means no battery savings afaik - but should tide you over (worked for me). [Bug 280417] Re: Network Manager claims devices are unmanaged
Editing /etc/network/interfaces to just keep the loopback and "auto eth0", followed by a reboot (not sure what needs bouncing) did the trick for me. No further ado: The "ifupdown" device disappeared from nm-applet and "Static eth0" reappeared, configured as before. -- Network Manager claims devices are unmanaged https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280417 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
