[Bug 486383] Re: Nautilus allows copy +4gb file on fat32 filesystem

2014-05-03 Thread DarkJavi
Reported this 4 years ago and is still an issue.

Today I tried to copy a 4.6 GB iso file onto a pendrive, after 15
minutes of file transfer it failed miserably raising an error that could
have been predicted earlier

** Summary changed:

- Copying +4gbs file on fat32 should be advised earlyer
+ Nautilus allows copy +4gb file on fat32 filesystem

Re: [Bug 630568] Re: Zoran zr364xx connect and disconnect problems

2012-03-26 Thread DarkJavi
This issue is there since (at least) ubuntu 10.04. And is still here since
that driver hasn't been updated since his creation.

I'm traveling and don't have access to that hardware, when I get back I'll
run the apport.

I'll be happy if at least could plug the camera without hanging the entire
usb subsystem.

[Bug 630568] Re: Zoran zr364xx connect and disconnect problems

2012-02-21 Thread DarkJavi
This is still present on 10.04, 10.10, 11.04, 11.10 and 12.04.

I've got a poseidon cam clone, based on zoran chipset, this is lsusb:

When plugged it shows the contents of the usb card, but when you press
the button on the cam to switch to webcam mode it fails, leaving the usb
subsystem blocked(no new devices are detected).

[Bug 486383] Re: Copying +4gbs file on fat32 should be advised earlyer

This is still an issue on ubuntu 11.10.

Nautilus let you try to copy a larger than 4gb file onto fat32
filesystem, when it reach 4gbs raises a error message, it should be
warned before attemping to copy the file.

[Bug 889559] Re: unity does not work for multiple monitors

2011-11-17 Thread DarkJavi
Same behavior here!.

Best achievement with unity on 11.10 was having unity working with 2
screens using noveau driver. But I've got 4 screens(on two nvidia
gts450), only one screen per graphic card was working.

So not good enough for me,on the other hand gnome-falback looks wierd
and I'm unable to add panels or applets to the existing panels.

I've switched to KDE, has a much better multiscreen support.

[Bug 773065] Re: unity does not start on multi graphic card system

2011-04-30 Thread DarkJavi
I'm affected too. Have 2x Nvidia gts450 with 4 screens.

If login into unity, desktop shows but mouse and keyboard does not interacts
with icons.
If login into gnome with xinerama enabled, the same.
If login into gnome without xinerama(separate X screens) I have acceleration
and can work on the first screen, but the other 3 windows have no borders and
can't use the keyboard.

 Windows.
 .
This package is based on a recent Wine beta. While many more applications
will work, there may be some loss of functionality compared with the
stable release provided by the regular wine package.

[Bug 557566] Re: evtouch does not work on Lucid

2010-08-15 Thread DarkJavi
Merged duplicated bugs into this one, we all are affected by the same
issue:

Since ubuntu 10.04 deprecated hal and moved X's config to
/usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/ calibration scripts are broken.

Tried the patch suggested by hackeron here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-evtouch/+bug/546487/comments/2

No luck,,now it doesn't complain about freemono font but segfaults on
start.

I managed to configure my touchscreen "by hand" changing
/usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evtouch.conf

If someone interested, this is my /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evtouch

[Bug 592927] Re: make-kpkg does not create an initrd image

Same problem here!

Used "make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-amd-preempt-1000hz --revision=1

after reboot there is no initrd image so kernel panics because is unable to
mount root filesystem.
then "mkinitramfs -k -o /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32.15+drm33.5-amd-preempt-1000hz

[Bug 595265] Re: Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation.

2010-06-30 Thread DarkJavi
Same here, add account dialog doesn't shows add neither cancel button.

Managed to add the facebook account after several resizes and clicking
again authorize button.

For me the resize didn't made the trick, but clicking several times on
authorise did, at first it says something like "authorisation with fb
completed" but after several clicks it told me "autorisation for Javier
Fernandez completed" and then showed the add button, so looks like if it
can't read real name from facebbok it don't shows the add button.

I've tried to set ip manually on /etc/eucalyptus/eucalyptus-ipaddr.conf

WALRUS_IP_ADDR="10.0.10.150"
SC_IP_ADDR="10.0.10.150"
CLOUD_IP_ADDR="10.0.10.150"
but no luck.

First tried to install the whole system on the VT machine, when failed,
purged everything and moved fronted to another machine with the same
result.

What could i do?

[Bug 434042] Re: [karmic] pulseaudio always receive hardware volume=1% from Philips PSC805 USB

2009-10-09 Thread DarkJavi
Now I can run pulseaudio with ignoredb=1, on gnome-volume-control I see
1 hardware with 2 outputs, one as 5.1 and other as 4.1, first one
appears when running with ignoredb=1 and sounds right, while second one
sounds distorted. the maximal volume is set by the volumevar of the
distorted interface, on that interface sounds distorted but when go back
to the working one it applied the volume change right.

Log attached, on that log session:
run pulseaudio
open volumecontrol
played sound with the first output -->sounds good
change to second interface --> sounds distorted
raised volume var of 2nd interface-->even more distorted
switch back to first interface --> sounds good and louder

With ignoredb workaround I can use sound normally, thanks David!

[Bug 434042] Re: [karmic] pulseaudio always receive hardware volume=1% from Philips PSC805 USB

2009-10-06 Thread DarkJavi
Right! NO_SIMD no longer neccesary, since a few days it works from the
startup with volumevar at first step.

I'm still unable to start pulseaudio with ignore_dB=1, attached my
default.pa and 2 logs for pulse audio.

Whats next?

Update:
-Tried ignore_dB=1 and pulseaudio won't start, here is the output:

E: module.c: Failed to load module "module-alsa-sink" (argument:
"ignore_dB=1"): initialization failed.
E: main.c: Module load failed.
E: main.c: Fallo al intentar iniciar el demonio.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong.

-Also noticed that the trick of lowering the volume only works with
PULSE_NO_SIMD=1

[Bug 434042] Re: [karmic] pulseaudio distorded sound

2009-09-21 Thread DarkJavi
Hi david, and thanks for your time!
attached the output for PULSE_NO_SIMD=1 pulseaudio -
On the log session I launch pulseaudio, then play with the volumebar of
gnome-volume-control, open an audio file with totem(sound ok) and closes the
session.
I realized that the problem is about the volume,if I set the volume bar in
gnome-volume-control to the first step of the bar and do the same on totem,
sounds ok.
On the log file I see this:

D: alsa-sink.c: Requested volume: 0: 65% 1: 65% 2: 65% 3: 65% 4: 65%
D: alsa-sink.c: Got hardware volume: 0: 1% 1: 1% 2: 1% 3: 1% 4: 1%
D: alsa-sink.c: Calculated software volume: 0: 8059% 1: 8059% 2: 8059% 3: 8059%
4: 8059% (accurate-enough=no)

Requested 65% - calculated software volume 8059%, that could explain why
it sounds bad!

[Bug 434042] [NEW] [karmic] pulseaudio distorded sound

2009-09-21 Thread DarkJavi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Got a karmic box updated till today with a philips PSC805 usb soundcard.
Like a week ago sound became choppy after an update. Not only choppy, also some
kind of saturated. Changing volume on gnome-volume-control does nothing.
It applys to all sound's coming form pulse (totem, system
sounds, amsn, flashplayer) but mplayer configured directly against oss or alsa
works fine.

[Bug 292377] Re: Calibration support for Xenarc 700TSV

2009-09-15 Thread DarkJavi
I have the same issue , which I reported on Bug #426340:

After a lot of trial and error I figured out that calibration points order is
different between driver and calibraton program.
For the calibration program xy0,xy1,xy2 belongs to upper-left,upper-center and
upper-right but for the driver 0.1.2 belongs to upper-left,middle-left and
bottom-left

My workarround:

Edit /etc/init.d/xserver-xorg-input-evtouch and change the mapping of
the points with this values:

hal_set minx $MINX
hal_set miny $MINY
hal_set maxx $MAXX
hal_set maxy $MAXY
hal_set x0 $X0
hal_set y0 $Y0
hal_set x1 $X3
hal_set y1 $Y3

Still have an issue when turning off the touchscreen, on resume it lost
the calibration, also when resuming from hibernation.Should I open a new
bug for this issue or is in topic with this?

[Bug 426340] [NEW] touchscreen 0eef:0001 doesn't calibrate properly

2009-09-08 Thread DarkJavi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-evtouch

Got an 7'' touchscreen that I can't manage to work properly.
Tried on Jaunty with no luck, now trying on a x64 Karmic's fresh install with
all updates.

The touchscreen is recognized and it works, but I can't calibrate it
properly, at first the axles are rotated and the pointer olny moves
along a small part of the screen, when running the calibration tool, it
moves along all the screen but not in the right direction(pressing upper
left clicks middle right and so). Also if turn off and on the screen
then the touchpanel back to work in the first way(axles 90º and only a
small part of the screen).

This is what I've done:

apt-get-install xserver-xorg-input-evtouch
reboot

The screen is recognoised,

At this point the touchpad works with rotated axles and only cover 1/4

Run the calibration tool:

In the first part the x/y coordinates makes sense, X is height which goes from
upside 224 to downside 1890 and Y is width wich goes from left 1921 to right
