[Bug 242043] Re: [needs-packaging} read-edid-2.0.0 for amd64

I am sure that "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" has something to do with read-edid simply because that's the error I got back when I invoked it! :-) I am not a ubuntu linux hacker, but I did do enough digging back at the time to assure myself that read-edid being missing was in fact the problem that stopped reconfiguration from taking place. If read-edid is in universe and the xserver is supposed to be (re)configurable without packages that are in universe, then read-edid may need reclassification (or alternately, the reconfiguration process may need changing to avoid the dependency). -- [needs-packaging} read-edid-2.0.0 for amd64 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242043 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 275432] Re: libpolkit requires files from policykit for polkit_context_init to work
I have a plain install of Ubuntu 8.10 Server. As ClarkTucker wrote on 2008-10-08, "aptitude why " yields: consolekit: dbus Depends consolekit (>=0.2.3-3ubuntu2) dbus: dbus-x11 Depends dbus dbus-x11: dbus Recommends dbus-x11 I don"t have an X server installed. Can anyone confirm that I may remove consolekit, dbus, and dbus-x11 without any trouble? -- libpolkit requires files from policykit for polkit_context_init to work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275432 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 296399] Re: update to latest version of hplip 2.8.10
Please also backport to Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron): HP CM1312nfi MFP support would be much appreciated there. -- update to latest version of hplip 2.8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296399 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 242043] [NEW] read-edid not availabe for amd64
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: read-edid Using Ubuntu 8.04, with either the standard or the NVidia proprietary driver, running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg fails to read EDID information from my monitor. This appears to be because the read-edid package is not available for amd64. Is there any workaround? ** Affects: read-edid (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 -- read-edid not availabe for amd64 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242043 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
