[Bug 396459] Re: auto-login settings not migrated

2009-07-10 Thread Dave Stroud
# GDM System Defaults Configuration file.
#
# This file should not be updated by hand. Since GDM 2.13.0.4, configuration
# choices in the GDM System Configuration file (/etc/gdm/gdm.conf) will
# override the default values specified in this file.
#
# If you were using an older version of GDM, your system may have the the older
# gdm.conf configuration file on the system. If so, then this file is used
# instead of the GDM Custom Configuration file for backwards support. If you
# make changes to the GDM Custom Configuration file and they seem to not be
# taking effect, this is likely the problem. Consider migrating your
# configuration to the new configuration file and removing the gdm.conf file.
#
# You can use the gdmsetup program to graphically edit the gdm.conf-custom
# file. Note that gdmsetup does not support every option in this file, just
# the most common ones that users want to change. If you feel that gdmsetup
# should support additional configuration options, please file a bug report at
# http://bugzilla.gnome.org/.
#
# If you hand-edit the GDM configuration, you should run the following command
# to get the GDM daemon to recognize the change. Any running GDM GUI programs
# will also be notified to update with the new configuration.
#
# gdmflexiserver --command="UPDATE_CONFIG "
#
# e.g, the "Enable" key in the "[debug]" section would be "debug/Enable".
#
# You can also run invoke-rc.d gdm reload or invoke-rc.d gdm restart
# to cause GDM to restart and re-read the new configuration settings.
# You can also restart GDM by sending a HUP or USR1 signal to the
# daemon. HUP behaves like restart and causes any user session
# started by GDM to exit immediately while USR1 behaves like
# reload and will wait until all users log out before
# restarting GDM.
#
# For full reference documentation see the GNOME help browser under
# GNOME|System category. You can also find the docs in HTML form on
# http://www.gnome.org/projects/gdm/

[Bug 410548] Re: when i boot in to win me It thinks I have a virus in mbr

2009-08-08 Thread Dave Stroud
My virus scanner does not think there is a virus in the mbr, windows says
there is a corrupt file or a virus in the mbr. It will not load
everything. I never had this problem before grub2. The only reason I
want to run win. is because I cant run my printer on ubuntu. There is no
deb for my driver. The rpm will not convert to deb. I can not install it
in windows because of what has been put into grub. If you dont know
about this, let spomeone else look at it. Thank you for your time.

[Bug 410548] Re: when i boot in to win me It thinks I have a virus in mbr

2009-08-11 Thread Dave Stroud
There is no virus and no virus scanner says there is. The old grub works
fine. Grub2 does not. Therefore its a bug in grub2.Maybe it should be
fixed upstream. it just needs to be fixed.Win. loads its just not
useable. M E is not supported and microsoft could care less.I might add
that I have been using ubuntu since 6.06 and never had this problem
before.I am just trying to do my thing and report bugs when I find
them, and am trying to help the cause. I dont know how to code or I would
just fix it myself. If it was written RPG or cobal I could. I have a
degree in computer science and the very first thing that we were taught
was that computers do just what they are told to do. This is not the
only problem I have with grub2. Its not booting another linux I have on
another partition. Sorry but I am just trying to help.

set up.The pictures screen saver is easy to set up and does the same
thing. I am having problems in karmic with the mouse it will not shut
off screen saver. The only way I can shut it off is by the keyboard. It
works that way but I prefer to use my mouse. Thank you
