[Bug 1613264] Re: Virt-manager Spice console not working

2016-08-28 Thread David Harrigan
Hi,

I got it working using this magic incantation:

apt install gir1.2-spice-client-gtk-3.0

Yes, it's still broken, but at least you perhaps get stuff done.

Hope that helps!

[Bug 1417962] Re: 6b34 regression: jps as root does not show classname anymore but instead 'process information unavailable' for processes running as non-root user

2015-02-21 Thread David Harrigan
Hi,

Not sure where I should post this, but I've just hit this bug with Java
8

java version 1.8.0_31
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_31-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.31-b07, mixed mode)

# update-alternatives --config java
There is 1 choice for the alternative java (providing /usr/bin/java).

  SelectionPath Priority Status

  0/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle/jre/bin/java 20012 auto mode
* 1/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle/jre/bin/java   20012 manual mode

# uname -a
Linux java-test-1 3.13.0-45-generic #74-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 13 19:36:28 UTC 2015
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I had to do the workaround (by creating the symlink) in order for
VisualVM to see the data coming from the running JVM.

I would be happy to move/report this issue if someone could suggest a
more appropriate area to post in.

Thank you.

[Bug 207127] Re: fn key doesn't work in hardy with macbook pro fourth generation (4, 1)

2008-05-14 Thread David Harrigan
Hi,

I too would like to see this fixed. Yes, I could recompile my own kernel
as described above, but for those out there not comfortable about doing
this, having this bug squashed and released as an official kernel update
would be great!

[Bug 195208] Re: rythmbox doesn't work for iPod touch

2008-03-31 Thread David Harrigan
Hi,

Just tried this with an ipod touch on hardy heron and it still doesn't
work.

I update hardy every day with updates (last one was a few mins ago).

Rhythmbox is 0.11.5-0ubuntu1

When I plug in the touch I get HAL reporting a new device and that's it.

Hi,

Changing my prefs.xml from stringlist to pathlist as mentioned in

[Bug 110821] Re: derby/javadb is duplicated in multiverse: sunwderby (glassfish) and sun-java6-javadb (Sun Java 6)

2007-05-23 Thread David Harrigan
Hi,

Thanks for the feeback, I think we are considering option 1 - making
glassfish depend on sun-java6-jre and sun-java6-javadb. It seems to be
the favoured approach since Java 6 is also available in the Multiverse.

[Bug 5823] Re: Recent changes seem to have broken electricsheep

2006-12-20 Thread David Harrigan
Hi,

Tried:

XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 /usr/bin/electricsheep --zoom 1 --root 1

but it doesn't work for me.

I've got an ATI X1600 and running gnome-screensaver. I get the sheep in
the top left hand corner as a box, bu the rest of the screen is black.
I've also got

Option VideoOverlay on
Option OpenGLOverlay off

in my xorg.conf as recommended in the posting 2 up.

I miss my sheep :(

2006-10-26 Thread David Harrigan
Oh,

I completely forgot the most important part! :-)

This was working in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with no problems. I just upgraded to
Ubuntu 6.10 this morning and walked thru my normal installation process
- including setting up Eclipse 3.2.1, and installing the libsvn-javahl
library...and bingo, we have this problem :-)

[Bug 68408] Crashes Eclipse 3.2.1 in Ubuntu 6.10

2006-10-26 Thread David Harrigan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libsvn-javahl

In Eclipse 3.2.1,

Make sure that the Subclipse Plugin is installed

then

Window...Preferences...Team..SVN...SVN Interface...Pure Java option is
selected.

then

Close Eclipse

then

apt-get install libsvn-javahl

once installed

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/jni:.
./eclipse

Go back to the Window and choose Preferences, Team then as soon as you
choose SVN Eclipse bombs out.

I've included the crash reports.

+ Pressing F8 and choosing 8-bit colour causes crash

** Description changed:

  Hi,

Using Edgy Eft. I'll see if I can include the crash dump.

+ Basically, I've got a SSH tunnel running thru to my mac at home that is
+ running OSXVnc (current version). All appeared to be working in Dapper
+ Drake, i.e., never had this problem.
+
+ When I create a connection (a local connection to my port-forwarded vnc
+ session on the other side) I choose from the menu (F8) to use 8-bit
+ colour to speed things up a tad. When I do this, xvncviewer just
+ crashes. It never did this in Dapper.
