[Bug 879719] Re: error: An X error occurred. The error was BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter).
I also get this error, and I'm running 12.04 as well. The message repeats 16 times and the Gpointing Device Settings opens, when issuing the command. Unlike Jeremy (Comment 4), I can save settings. Only thing off for me is that the trackpad is still very fast though it's at the slowest setting. Not sure if this is related to the error or not. Also, in case this is helpful, It shows settings for Logitech USB Optical Mouse (the mouse I'm using), PS/2 Mouse, and AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint (my trackpad). Also, I'm using a Toshiba Portege R100, in case this is helpful as well. Ultimately, I'd like to have better control over the trackpad speed, and also have the trackpad settings tab appear in System Settings under Mouse and Touchpad, where there is only Mouse tab. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879719 Title: error: An X error occurred. [Bug 774434] Re: mouse pointer disappears in ubuntu (11.04 onwards...)
Hi, I'm also getting this on 12.04. My machine is a Toshiba Portege R100 with a Trident Microsystems CyberBlade XP4m32 (rev 91) graphics card running on the xserver-xorg-video-trident driver. The desktop defaults to Unity 2D, I think because of the limitations of my graphics card. I'm not running unclutter. It SEEMS to only happen with DMZ-White. For me this issue is intermittent. 90% of the time, restarting and THEN logging out and back in restores the cursor to normal. A simple restart or log out almost never works (By "normal" I mean that it doesn't disappear over icons.) If the cursor is behaving normally, I can reliably "cause" the problem by starting Software Center. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774434 Title: mouse pointer disappears in ubuntu (11.04 onwards...) [Bug 1170961] Re: Pointer Disappears on Certain Surfaces
Ok, turning this into a question because I just realized it's intermittent. logging in and out solved it, then it came back, and I'm not sure why/when it happens, or even if this issue is related to dmz- cursor-theme. Of course, switching to another theme solves the problem, but maybe that's because of logging out and back in. In the forums, where others noticed this issue, it has always been DMZ-White, but that might be coincidence. Has anyone else noticed this issue? It's very minor, but just sort of breaks the continuity of the interface. ** Changed in: dmz-cursor-theme (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Converted to question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dmz-cursor-theme/+question/227181 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170961 Title: Pointer Disappears on Certain Surfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dmz-cursor-theme/+bug/1170961/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1170961] [NEW] Pointer Disappears on Certain Surfaces
Public bug reported: It always disappears over the system icons in System Settings. But reappears when I move it. This also happens on a variety of web sites over certain areas/icons. [Bug 346028] Re: [ATI driver specific] Ubuntu Jaunty hangs after usplash with fglrx 8.600 or 8.6002
I had catalyst version 9.5 from the ATI site. I had to download and compile it because the fglrx from the repository was not up to date when Jaunty was released. After the update that installed kernel 2.6.28-13 I lost video.
