[Bug 1252266] Re: Corrupted low memory after resume from suspend after updating to saucy

2015-04-20 Thread Deje
Based on forum thread at Arch
(https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=189483) this seems to be a
bug in the BIOS. And it seems that the message is just for diagnostics,
and has no direct cause on suspend/resume problems.

However I still experience the same issue, that after resuming from
sleep mode the ethernet does not work. Most of time killall
NetworkManager works, but not always. And I also have a Gigabyte
board...

Using 12.04.5 I had no issues with suspend/resume.

[Bug 1076611] Re: Ubuntu 12.10 : CPU governor is on performance mode making laptop with high temperature

2013-02-18 Thread Deje
When running on AC, the CPU governor is always set to "performance".
In previous Ubuntu editions (I can't remember exactly) the gonvernor was always
set to "performance" after boot/login, but was switched to "ondemand" after a
minute or so (to speed up login speed as much as possible). But in 12.10 the
setting stays at "performance".

[Bug 719279] Re: Cannot login when password contains special characters..

2011-08-15 Thread Deje
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 598034 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/598034

I think I encountered the same issue previously. Any user that contained non
US-ASCII characters in the Full Name in AD (not even the login name!) could not
log in, while others could do.
The problem is that the likewise-ubuntu intergration does not pass the current
locale setting to the likewise init scripts.

See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/likewise-open/+bug/598034

Actually my fix was a bit different, I just added:

LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8
export LANG

to the beginning of /usr/lib/likewise-open/init-base.sh and it solved
the issue, but you could try the other solutions as mentioned in the
another bug.

[Bug 136336] Re: Compiz shift-switcher should not scale icons for minimized windows

2010-05-12 Thread Deje
My computer has a lot of memory compared to the tasks it is used most of the
time. I could bear with some megabytes wasted because of storing screenshots of
minimized windows.
If RAM is low, stop some apps or turn compiz off, which will significantly
decrease memory usage.
I can't believe this feature has been removed from beryl/compiz. It would
definitely worth that RAM, especially that it would finally give meaning to the
Window Preview plugin.

[Bug 477755] Re: Please reinclude the patch for codepage-based zip filenames

2009-12-09 Thread Deje
I totally agree that this is a huge issue with UnZip, all non-English
speaking world suffers from this problem. Please DO include this patch
as there is no tool exit for Karmic that could solve this filename
encoding problem, while the problem is real and there is no acceptable
workaround - other than having this feature in UnZip. It would also be a
nice feature that some other tool like the gnome-file-roller had the
ability to specify a different filename encoding. Because the software
is free it should not be also lame, man! (excuse me for the tone but I'm
a bit angry about this)

[Bug 486324] [NEW] Wrong Warning and error opening terminal for debugging

2009-11-21 Thread DeJe
Public bug reported:

 *** 2:2.28.0.0-0ubuntu3 0

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I created a simple c project with defaults (even name foobar-sample) and build
it using debug-configuration. I double checked that both -g and -O0 is used for
building. I set a breakpoint and start debugging with SHIFT-F12.
A Warning pops up asking if I am sure to debug an application built without
debuggingconfiguration. Thats wrong.
I bypass this popup, next there comes an error message "Terminal zur
Fehlerdiagnose kann nicht gestartet werden.". In english it is something like
"Terminal could not be started for debugging". I do not get a terminal, so no
program output either.
I should mention that debugging itself is working. I can execute the Program
step by step, set breakpoints, get local variables, and so on.

I expect that no wrong warnigs pop up and the terminal should open for
debugging.

[Bug 212359] [NEW] LiveCD Ubiquity freeze in partman

2008-04-05 Thread DeJe
Public bug reported:

Sorry, I dont know to which packages this should go.

I try to install a Hardy LiveCD (all starting from Alpha 5) to a test system.
The only hard disk in this system already have valid linux fs/partitioning
(ext3 + swap) on it.
The LiveCD is using the swap-partition on this disk so partman cannot partition
this disk. When Ubiquity is starting partman, cpu goes to 100% for hours, so
never ending. I had to kill it.
my solution: I booted GParted-LiveCD and deleted all partitions. Now Hardy
LiveCD (latest Beta version with all updates from Yesterday created with
remastersys) will install fine on this system.
