[Bug 660639] Re: twl driver failed to transfer msgs etc

2011-05-24 Thread Deepak Saxena
Tom, can you re-test this with a new kernel? Nicolas' kernel has the
patch Andy pointed to and I'd like to close this before release if we
know it is fixed.

Tom,

Have you had a chance to retest with the patch Warmcat pointed to?

[Bug 153007] Re: PowerPlay worked in Feisty, no longer works in Gutsy

2007-10-16 Thread Deepak Saxena
PowerPlay is the power management interface used by the ATI drivers to
configure the power
settings on their GPUs. I should be able to do "aticonfig --set-powerstate 1"
to throttle the
GPU down to a low power mode.

[Bug 137401] Re: kde apps draw very slowly

I've seen the same problem. Running the kernel's 'make menuconfig' inside a
Konsole took over
5 seconds to draw!

[Bug 153015] KDE redraw is extremelly slugish in Gutsy

2007-10-15 Thread Deepak Saxena
Public bug reported:

I don't really have any detailed analysis at the moment, but from a pure user
experience POV, KDE is extremely painful to use in Gutsy w/o compiz enabled.
Redraws are taking forever and when
running multiple applications (konqueror, kterm, konversation, etc) this makes
the system almost
unusable. When I run compiz, everything is OK, but since kde-window-decorator
just dies when
I run compiz (see 129801, 145857), that's not a proper workaround either.

HW is an ATI X1600 (as reported via flgrxinfo) running the ATI drivers.

[Bug 153007] PowerPlay worked in Feisty, no longer works in Gutsy

2007-10-15 Thread Deepak Saxena
Public bug reported:

[8]trantor(~)> aticonfig --lsp
Error: Unable to obtain POWERplay information.

This is on an HP/Compaq NC8430 system and I was able to use aticonfig to query
and
set the power state on Feisty with no problems. Running "dpk -l `which
aticonfig`"
reports "No packages found matching /usr/bin/aticonfig" so I'm wondering if
this
is a user/missconfiguration error.

Thanks.
