[Bug 954661] Re: backlight brightness not adjustable by default on Dell XPS 13

2013-06-20 Thread Dekos Namax
Indeed.

I have this problem since Ubuntu 10.04. Couldn't fix it.

Using a LG laptop and Ubuntu 13.04 x64 (Kernel: 3.8.0-25).

2013-05-31 Thread Dekos Namax
More info: I have this problem since my fresh installation of Ubuntu
13.04 (64-bits). From what I remember, Nvidia proprietary drivers
weren't installed, so nouveau made my OS crash when installing Haguichi.

Output of hello world compile:
dekosnamax@nSLI:~$ echo 'class MainClass { static void Main() {
System.Console.WriteLine("Hello World!"); } }' > hello.cs
dekosnamax@nSLI:~$ dmcs hello.cs
dekosnamax@nSLI:~$ mono hello.exe
Hello World!

[Bug 1125052] Re: Laptop cooling fan stops suddenly after a period of use.

2013-05-21 Thread Dekos Namax
It's been a long time but I think it's fixed. Thanks a lot if someone
actually reported this on Bugzilla and they corrected.

Notes:
- Using 64-bit now [I don't think it was because of 32-bit though];
- Separated partitions (root, home and swap) [I don't think it was because of
this too];
- Didn't test with games but it's enough (and a relief) for me to watch videos
in HD on whatever browser and see my fan working properly.

I don't think so, even for 10.10 - which I started using for the first

  and don't start again causing overheat and consequential system shutdown
  to prevent damage.

  - The fan works normal on Windows. It doesn't stop cooling even under
  heavy load such as games or full hd videos. As the processing
  temperature increases, the rotation rises too. In Ubuntu it happens in
  reverse; when under heavy load it just stops spinning;

  - I always use the latest stable driver version of graphics card and

[Bug 1125052] [NEW] Laptop cooling fan stops suddenly after a period of use.

2013-02-14 Thread Dekos Namax
Public bug reported:

I'm having this problem for a long time. The cooling solution (single
fan for CPU and GPU) on my LG 590 (5700) laptop, suddenly stops to work
and don't start again causing overheat and consequential system shutdown
to prevent damage.

How can I solve this?

[I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 but the laptop was originally designed to run
Windows.]

- The fan works normal on Windows. It doesn't stop cooling even under
heavy load such as games or full hd videos. As the processing
temperature increases, the rotation rises too. In Ubuntu it happens in
reverse; when under heavy load it just stops spinning;

- I always use the latest stable driver version of graphics card and

When I try to configure it, I get: "There are no pwm-capable sensor

P.S.: I'm new to this so I'm sorry if I did everything wrong here.
