[Bug 545065] Re: pulseaudio ratelimit.c messages and jittery sound
I have no idea what happened, I remember following some site advising me to uninstall a bunch of PulseAudio packages and install something else and everything seems fixed now - I even have my log file back. [Bug 492248] [NEW] Offline IMAP synchronisation unreliable
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) Evolution 2.28.1 IMAP - confirmed with Gmail and local ISP mail server I have set folders to be marked for offline synchronisation, as well as enabling the automatic synchronisation option. Have synchronised for offline use and switched offline, and synchronised again when prompted. Many emails are not available when offline, and network usage indicates that not much has been downloaded. Have attempted on two different systems, both using Karmic. This is very important to me as this is the main reason to use Evolution, as I currently have no other way to backup an IMAP email folder. Seems to happen on large email accounts. [Bug 226038] [NEW] nvidia tv output not working
Public bug reported: Prior to upgrading to Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) I had the TV output working as a separate independent screen. Now the TV Output is not working. I do have desktop effects enabled (compiz?) - I am not sure if this is an issue. The nvidia-utilities (which are not installed by default, neither are the binary drivers, requiring users to manually install and properly configure these drivers to obtain full graphics support) do not detect the TV output. The screen-resolution application (which I think may be what I used previously to configure the TV) does not see a second 'TV' screen either. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nvidia tv output not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/226038 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 226038] Re: nvidia tv output not working
was just thinking - there is an option to enable as 'independent screen' in the NVidia-Settings utility - however will this clash with compiz (desktop effects) enabled? I think I recall an issue with this previously and I know how delicate the X-Server (or Linux in general) can be when playing with things like this. I don't want to be left without a working system as I had enough trouble getting the screen working after upgrading as it is (I had to copy across a X backup configuration file that I fortunately had or it would have been stuck in low resolution - I think custom timings are required for my Viewsonic VA-1912W monitor that the backup configuration file has). RE: [Bug 3731] Re: Xorg resolution falling back to 640x480 and/or 800x600 when h/v freqs incorrect
I had a seemingly unsolveable problem with a Dell laptop screen not being recognised properly under the binary Nvidea driver that was fixed by some kind contributer uploading a EDID file to these support forums and then telling X to use that. Problem fixed. I suggest a database be created of troublesome displays and corresponding EDID files if this shows some promise to resolve some issues. -original message- Subject: [Bug 3731] Re: Xorg resolution falling back to 640x480 and/or 800x600 when h/v freqs incorrect From: Chris <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 20/10/2007 17:16 Changing Gutsy screen resolutions does not work on my computer. [Bug 3731] Re: Xorg resolution falling back to 640x480 and/or 800x600 when h/v freqs incorrect
thanks Bryce.. I finally found the timings for the Viewsonic VA1912W and manually created a 1440x900 resolution and enabled it and it works, and enabled anti-aliasing, vibrance, etc with the Nvidia control panel - but now another weird problem when some apps close (like a full screen app just now) keyboard and mouse lose focus to the X screen as a whole - i.e. - can't interact with the computer although mouse cursor can be moved around (but has no effect)... ideas? I really hope the next version of Ubuntu will fix some of these bugs - it's taken a decade of solid development to get Linux to a point where it is *almost* usable for the average user, but not quite. Most people would not have a clue about manually setting timings and all these commands. But I am happy I've made some progress. Still leaves Linux in the 'need a lot of technical knowledge' category though, not quite there yet until these things are easier to resolve or better documented. Definately an improvement from when I last used Linux a few years ago though (before Ubuntu existed). Can't say I have heard Vista is all round easy to install and maintain either though I have to admit. Now if I can just resolve this weird 'lose focus' bug? Would also like to know how to pipe full screen video to the TV as XP does so flawlessly. -- Xorg resolution falling back to 640x480 and/or 800x600 when h/v freqs incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/3731 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a subscriber of a duplicate bug. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
