[Bug 84616] Re: Low Audio Volume/other audio problems with Lenovo 3000 C200

2007-03-25 Thread Denes Kiss
Pay Attention!
In the Lenovo 3000 c200 the sound works with acpi=ht set at grub's menu.lst,
only if the Internal Modem is set ENABLED in the setup!

[Bug 47892] Re: error when adding a CUPS printer through web interface: cupsdAuthorize: pam_authenticate() returned 7 (Authentication failure)

2007-03-24 Thread Denes Kiss
I think the problem has not been solved yet. I installed an Edgy desktop
and it works, but in an Edgy server I am unable to switch on the admin
login window again. Even if I put the cupsys into the shadow group, the
login window does not receive the root password. So I can not configure
a new printer on the server.

[Bug 84616] Re: Low Audio Volume/other audio problems with Lenovo 3000 C200

2007-03-04 Thread Denes Kiss
I have the same laptop with no sound. At me even the acpi=ht does not help. The
chip is Realtek ID 862. (Intel HDA compatible).
I tried: Ubuntu 6.06, 610, SUSE 0.2.
The alsamixer showes me only a single MASTER chanel.

I compiled the newest ALSA and the supported linux driver from Realtek.
(Unfortunatelly the chip 862 is not found in the supported list.)
After the compilation the alsamixer showed the MASTER and PCM
chanels. But the sound does not work. (The hardware is good, because I tested
it XP.)
Has anybody any idea, what to try yet?

Daniel T Chen írta:
Denes, is the modem enabled or disabled in your bios?

Daniel,
The modem was enabled in the bios. I set it disabled, but no change.
I use Ubuntu 6.10, kernel 2.6.17. I compiled the new alsa 1.0.14rc2.
(The hardware should be good, because XP works.)
I can unload the driver by /etc/init.d/alsasound stop, and load it with
modprobe -v snd-hda-intel.
I do not find any fault. Alsamixer on the max. On board volume on.
With regards: Denes

[Bug 39517] Sound does not work on Lenovo 3000

2007-01-28 Thread Denes Kiss
No sound on Lenovo 3000 C200 either.
It has almost the same lspci output, and I have already tried options and new
alsa compilation, but no result.
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)
Subsystem: Lenovo Unknown device 3802
The interesting is, that the XP recognizes Realtek sound card, and uses Realtek
driver.

I experiences an error message in Edgy. In two different machines, pushing the

[Bug 67487] Re: [edgy][regression][rv280] black screen and console freeze when X starts - drm lockup

2006-12-06 Thread Denes Kiss
My black screen problem has been solved by changing the AGP speed in the BIOS
from 8x to 4x.
I experienced similar speed problem with my USB pen drive. The automount did
not work. But changing the full speed to only high speed, the automounting
feature returned.

The Edgy Beta works fine with my Radeon 9550, but the final release produces a
blank screen.
After upgrading to final, the blank sceen appears again.
What is the difference between the Beta and Final?

Marius: You were right. After a week I got a freeze with Kubuntu6.06 too. (With
U6.06 I got freezes in every hour.)
But now I run fine for a week with U6.10. I hope it will keep on.

[Bug 37773] Re: [madwifi] Semi-random system lockups in Dapper

2006-09-30 Thread Denes Kiss
My laptop hangs up randomly with Ubuntu 6.06. I tried everythings for months,
but no result.
I installed Kubuntu 6.06 and interestingly it has been working fine. No hang up
any longer. I do not see any differences in the configuration.
It was rock solid with Ubuntu 5.10 too.
Compaq Evo160, Ati Mobility card. I use two wired ethernet interfaces for
routing.

It has been working with Kubuntu 6.06 for weeks without hang up. Everithing is
the same, but KDE! Interesting. I do not see any changes in the configuration.

[Bug 37773] Re: [madwifi] Semi-random system lockups in Dapper

2006-07-24 Thread Denes Kiss
Very similar problem.
My Compaq EVO 110 laptop was rock solid with Breesy. With Dapper it locks up
randomly when I use Firefox. No mouse, no keyboard, no any massage. I use ATI
Radeon Mobility and the ATI prop. driver. I use the latest upgrade, but this
bug persists from the beginning. I have tried both 386 and 686 kernel, open and
propr. drivers. No change.
I have no idea what to try yet.
