I just downloaded the debs for ncpfs and libncp version 2.2.6-3 and used dpkg -i to install (ie downgrade them). Whenever I do a dist-upgrade I just downgrade them again. Normal upgrades are fine tho, because Ive locked the packages to the current version. [Bug 184384] FLAC and MP3 files being deleted from my PC
Public bug reported: A week ago I noticed that nearly all of my FLAC files had disappeared from my PC. The file structure consisting of about 444 folders was intact but around 3500 individual FLAC files in them had all gone missing. I restored the files from backup and changed their properties to read only and today Rhythmbox reported over 1000 missing files FLAC and MP3 files. After checking the music folder I found that a GB of FLAC and about 20GB of MP3 files have disappeared. No one uses this computer apart from my daughter and I and neither of us has deleted these files. I run ubuntu 7.10 and before this I ran 6.06LTS for a while. I have never before lost files like this under 6.06. I have no idea what could be causing this issue and would appreciate any help any I can get. I agree it's unlikely but what else can it be? Rhythmbox is the only software used to play FLAC and MP3 and these are the only files being deleted (so far). The file structure remains intact so it's not a case of recursive del *.*. I have loaded ubuntu fiesty on my mac ppc and every morning when i start the comp, the date gets reset to 1904/01/01 and nautilus crashes too asking if the applets are to be deleted. It doesn't work until I type in "killall bonobo-activation server" and restart nautilus using Alt-F2. I have loaded ubuntu fiesty on my mac ppc and every morning when i start the comp, the date gets reset to 1904/01/01 and nautilus crashes too asking if the applets are to be deleted. It doesn't work until I type in "killall bonobo-activation server" and restart nautilus using Alt-F2. [Bug 184384] FLAC and MP3 files being deleted from my PC
Public bug reported: A week ago I noticed that nearly all of my FLAC files had disappeared from my PC. The file structure consisting of about 444 folders was intact but around 3500 individual FLAC files in them had all gone missing. I restored the files from backup and changed their properties to read only and today Rhythmbox reported over 1000 missing files FLAC and MP3 files. After checking the music folder I found that a GB of FLAC and about 20GB of MP3 files have disappeared. No one uses this computer apart from my daughter and I and neither of us has deleted these files. I run ubuntu 7.10 and before this I ran 6.06LTS for a while. I have never before lost files like this under 6.06. I have no idea what could be causing this issue and would appreciate any help any I can get. I agree it's unlikely but what else can it be? Rhythmbox is the only software used to play FLAC and MP3 and these are the only files being deleted (so far). The file structure remains intact so it's not a case of recursive del *.*. I just downloaded the debs for ncpfs and libncp version 2.2.6-3 and used dpkg -i to install (ie downgrade them). Whenever I do a dist-upgrade I just downgrade them again. Normal upgrades are fine tho, because Ive locked the packages to the current version. I have loaded ubuntu fiesty on my mac ppc and every morning when i start the comp, the date gets reset to 1904/01/01 and nautilus crashes too asking if the applets are to be deleted. [Bug 184384] FLAC and MP3 files being deleted from my PC
Public bug reported: A week ago I noticed that nearly all of my FLAC files had disappeared from my PC. The file structure consisting of about 444 folders was intact but around 3500 individual FLAC files in them had all gone missing. I restored the files from backup and changed their properties to read only and today Rhythmbox reported over 1000 missing files FLAC and MP3 files. After checking the music folder I found that a GB of FLAC and about 20GB of MP3 files have disappeared. No one uses this computer apart from my daughter and I and neither of us has deleted these files. I run ubuntu 7.10 and before this I ran 6.06LTS for a while. I have never before lost files like this under 6.06. I have no idea what could be causing this issue and would appreciate any help any I can get. I agree it's unlikely but what else can it be? Rhythmbox is the only software used to play FLAC and MP3 and these are the only files being deleted (so far). The file structure remains intact so it's not a case of recursive del *.*. [Bug 140464] Re: ncpfs 2.2.6-4 breaks ncpmount
I just downloaded the debs for ncpfs and libncp version 2.2.6-3 and used dpkg -i to install (ie downgrade them). Whenever I do a dist-upgrade I just downgrade them again. Normal upgrades are fine tho, because Ive locked the packages to the current version.
