Removed flashplugin-nonfree. Downloaded Alpha refresh of Adobe's Flash player 10i.e. libflashplayer-10.0.d21.1.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz on desktop and after extraction got libflashplayer.so as per instructions on Adobe website. Copied libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins after creating 'plugins' directory. To verify, launched Mozilla Firefox to choose Help>About plugins from menu. But there is no option of selecting 'About plugins' from Help menu of Mozilla Firefox. However tried running video files in Mozilla Firefox /Totem Movie player and audio files in Rythembox but there is no sound output. It is attached herewith. I was able to run apt-get update in terminal of one user after having completion of startup. The error reports furnished by me were encountered during startup in recovery mode wherein i ran apt-get update in terminal. However symptoms reported still persist.
