[Bug 1589401] Re: cannot view wifi networks after re-enabling wifi
I too have this bug on a Lenovo W520 with Ubuntu 16.04 kernel 4.4.0-62-generic The only solution that has worked is restarting the network-manager service, however if I attach an USB WiFi adapter based on rtl8187, the icon becomes normal and I can choose a network for that adapter. The Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 remains unusable. Also the interface name is wlp3s0 instead of the usual wlan0 on other installations I've made. If I try $ ifdown wlp3s0 results in Unknown interface wlp3s0 As to comment #133 nm-applet still crashes after hardware switching off/on WiFi and resuming from suspend. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589401 Title: cannot view wifi networks after re-enabling wifi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager/+bug/1589401/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 787119] Re: xscreensaver blocks guides in gimp
I can confirm this bug, affecting also the 64 bits version of xubuntu. [Bug 405022] Re: gparted doesn't support sector sizes > 512
Curtis: I haven't tried creating a new partition on the disk using gparted. The only partition in the disk was created with fdisk and then formatted with mkfs.vfat. This is the one I can't resize. I hope this helps. -- gparted doesn't support sector sizes > 512 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405022 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 405022] Re: gparted doesn't support sector sizes > 512
I tested gparted 0.6.0 under ubuntu 10.04. It does recognize my 4096 byte/sector disk and allows to align to MB, however when attempting to write libparted 2.2 throws an error and stops detecting the device. I was trying to shrink a FAT32 (LBA) file system. I'm attaching gparted's log but doesn't seem very useful. ** Attachment added: "Gparted's log on 4096B/sector" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/50688965/gparted_details.htm -- gparted doesn't support sector sizes > 512 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405022 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 405022] Re: gparted doesn't support sector sizes > 512
I have the same problem in Ubuntu 9.10. I was never able to use gparted while my external 4096 byte/sector usb drive was connected. I went ahead and made the desired partitions using fdisk. After backing up a lot of data in that drive, I found out my drive was performing real slow writing. I read that aligning the start sector to 64 solves the problem, but I did it with fdisk's defaults which led to an unnaligned slow drive. It would be nice if gparted didn't crash every time I connect the drive. I don't know what data to append so I'll wait for someone to ask. [Bug 483362] Re: armagetronad.real keeps running and consumes 100% of one core after game exits
I'm really sorry and a bit ashamed about the last comment on this bug (it wasn't solved), but I found out a couple of things: If the system has just been rebooted armagetronad runs as it should (with sound and not using a complete CPU core). The problem seems to have a relation with flash: whenever gnash, swfdec or flashplugin are, or have been used during reboot (not session), armagetronad looses sound and hogs the cpu. I think this is a more general bug but armagetronad is the only 3d demanding program I use apart from compiz. -- armagetronad.real keeps running and consumes 100% of one core after game exits https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483362 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I did the last ubuntu update which included the 2.6.31-15 kernel and the problem was solved, Armagetronad also gained sound which was missing before. I think this bug should be closed. [Bug 483362] [NEW] armagetronad.real keeps running and consumes 100% of one core after game exits
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: armagetronad After playing one round in armagetronad (fullscreen) and exiting via the game menu, the process is still running and consuming an whole core of cpu. Every time I've reproduced it gmpc-mpd were also active (playing) and compiz enabled. Steps: 1. Turn on computer, 2. Start armagetronad, 3. Exit after playing one round. I had a similar problem: 373921 but i solved it by cleaning the fan exhaust conducts. [Bug 373921] [NEW] CPU overheating during intense use (regression)
Public bug reported: AMD Athlon 64x2 TK-55 Radeon X1200 Ubuntu & Xubuntu 9.04 Kernel 2.6.28-11-generic x86_64 First of all, this looks like bug #22336 from 2005-2006, It has happened 6 times while doing different things. After several hours of npviewer being active in firefox (3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1) the laptop suddenly shut off without warning. Gimp (2.6.6-0ubuntu1) while doing different CPU demanding tasks (selection from path in a large image, script-fu and others) same problem (shut down without warning) appeared. I've been having other problems with the video driver (radeonhd) since I upgraded to jaunty, but this seems like an overheating problem. I've been monitoring CPU's temperature via lm-sensors and it doesn't go below 64° C., critical temperature is 102° C. CPU frecuency scaling "on demand" runs processor at 44% but simple task like launching the gimp rises temperature 8° C and CPU frecuency to 100%. Thanks.
